Sopranos fans have never handled a real gun so they can't tell anything is amiss.
Freeze, motherfucker

Singleshot assassin's gun. Keeps the casing. For high level dudes only

>>214365366Joking aside, is that a real thing? I'd be surprised if intelligence or the military didn't have a gun that could hold on to shells after firing.

>>214367737that's called a revolver. also over unders or double barrels
>>214367737Assassins pistols are real. I used to have this big gun encyclopedia when I was a kid. Had THOUSANDS of historic firearms from the flintlock to modern era. I think it was just called GUNS. Cool book. But yes, assassin pistols that keep the casing are real

>>214369573Revolvers have openings around the cylinder where gas and sound escapes which makes putting a silencer on them pretty pointless.

>>214369481lmao
>>214369767Nagant revolver actually had a gas sealing system where the cylinder is pressed against the barrel when trigger is pulled.
>>214369767https://www.thearmorylife.com/can-you-suppress-a-revolver/
>>214369291that's why you gotta get weird with them, and have special ammo that has a little plug at the back of the casing that is pushed to the neck of the cartridge and plugs it after the initial expansion pushes the bullet out.
>>214369291Revolvers have no issue accepting silencers at all. Silencers just don't really do much because of the cylinder gap. With the exception of a few revolvers like the Nagant M1895 which have designs that seal that gap.
>>214369818>In theory, suppressing a weapon is a straightforward process, but wheelguns are a bit different. Gas — and noise — can escape in the gap between the cylinder and barrel negating any efforts to suppress the noise from shooting a revolver. An integrally suppressed revolver is possible, but expensive. However, the Russians produced one that could be a great platform for a suppressed revolver while the Tsar still ruled. Let’s take a look at what they did to create this unique revolver.
Any revolver can take a suppressor.
>>214369834cont, just a funky little murder pistol designed for use at hand shake distances, Russians claims they're useful within 50 meters, but i doubt they're effective past 50 feet
>>214369904it's a 7.5 grain bullet, it's probably not useful unless literally pressed against someone's temple
>>214369549Fur yeeur
>>214364361I heard somewhere years ago maybe a podcast that the reason they used this prop flashpaper guy was because a local ordinance demanded film crews couldn't exceed a certain decibel level and couldn't be firing blanks within so many yards of a school. So they really only had this thing on hand that day for shooting because they couldn't use one of the other guns to pop off a blank.
>>214370099It would make more sense to do what every other production does in that scenario, use the blank firing gun, don't fire it, add muzzle flash and bang in post.
>>214370099couldnt they have just spray painted pic related and just have it out of focus?
>>214364361why did they keep this embarrassing shit in
>>214364361Was the gun chalked?
>>214369291>Revolvers have issues with accepting silencersTechnically, yes, the cylinder gap does cause issues with suppressors/silencers actually “silencing” or “suppressing”, the noise from a gun shot. The one major exception to this, is the Nagant rrevolver used by the Russians, that used a special long case ammunition, and a cylinder that moved back and firth, that sealed the fap between the cylinder and the barrel. While this Nagant revolver was one of the only firearms to use this ammunition, it was far from the only “revolver” that had a cylinder that moved forward and backward to try yo seal the cylinder gap. There have been revolvers going back two or three hindred years, that have tried that technique to seal the cylinder/barrel gap, with a notable mass produced example being the Savage revolver used during the US Civil War. As for the Nagant revolver, this is a video showing a suppressed example firing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1e6U6W3LI3oAs for regular revolvers, those can also be suppressed, just not as well. Usually, if a suppressed revolver is desired, the revolver is tweaked to have an ultr tight cylinder gap, to minimize gas leakage between the cylinder and barrel. This is a 500 Magnum Revolver that was tweaked for suppressor use. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8OuKVDXqak0The revolver isn’t completely silent, but it’s not exactly a firearm or round that would normally suppressible. Incidentally, the US military had .38 revolvers made during the Vietnam War, with a narrow cylinder gap, that were designed to be used with a silencer, and which were sometimes used by “Tunnel Rat” soldiers, sent in to clear the Viet Cong underground tunnels.

>>214370354The British also experimented with their own suppressed revolver. I was just pointing out a reason people would use bolt-action pistols over revolvers in the role of an assassin's weapon, not making a sweeping statement about suppressors on revolvers.
>>214364745Almost looks like a town in northern England.
>>214370254I never liked those caps that come on a paper roll. They're so weak. The plastic caps have so much more bang.
