What did /tv/ think of this film would you do if you had is powers
>>
>>214368749
It was fun and I'd do what he did. I interviewed the writer who wrote the book it was based on. He told me he absolutely hated hated writing his very first stories on his first typewriter.

The movie script used was one of 5 optional scripts, he chose the one filmed as he thought it was the best version.
>>
>>214368840
When and Where did you interview him
>>
I don't understand why he jumped to egypt. He hates sand and it gets everywhere.
>>
>>214368749
I would get to work much faster, so I would be able to use the free time to play some video games and maybe watch a movie sometimes.
>>
>>214369064
why would you need to work you can just teleport into bank vaults and just stacks of cash
>>
>>214369096
After you get past a certain age, there's nothing really left for you to do besides work. You can feel needed, AND important, AND in control, and even get some money for it instead of being a fucking criminal.
>>
>>214369124
Why work If I can just travel the world Like he did
>>
>from the director of Peanut Butter and the writer of Chocolate
>>
>>214368749
I'd probably do the same thing he did with his power, but I found his character to be pretty annoying because he never learns from his mistakes. At no point does he do anything to protect himself from the guys shooting electricity at him when he previously teleported just to get a diving suit so he could go surfing.
>>
>>214368749

It's a great movie. Director Doug Liman is underrated.

I don’t believe it. There’s no way I’d choose to work if not working was an option.

Never seen it. Avoided because of crappy reviews.
Should I watch it? Critics were wrong about In Time. That shit was fun, even if dumb.

Find some abandoned bunker in the woods. Weld it shut, but install vents. Teleport shit into it. Starlink solar-powered bunker NEET. Hunting would be much easier.
>>
>>214369338
It's a fun movie and it shows my favourite depiction of how a teleportation superpower should be. If I could have three I would choose this movie's version of teleportation, being indestructible and having a healing touch.

Haha imagine if someone like McVeigh had those powers. Now that would be wacky.
>>
>>214369338
Very fun "male power fantasy" flick, MC went from a chump to an untouchable criminal living the dream but then the second half of the movie came and you know, you can't have fun, bad (white) guy needs to learn accountability and be punished etc etc + romance slop albeit some kino scenes and some narrative that some people can dig are still present
>>
>>214369338
Adding to what most people have already praised about the movie, watching it fills your head with all the untapped kino potential the director never explored.

Film would have been more interesting if they hadn't introduced random christian antiteleport men
I want to know how a guy who can teleport would spend his life
How would he launder the money? He can teleport but that doesn't mean he knows how to handle that much money
What happens when banks put CCTV in their vaults and he inevitably gets spotted?
How do you arrest him if he can just disappear? There would be an international manhunt for a magic teleporting man
>>
>What would you do if you had his powers?

Rape. Wait, sorry, I thought this was the Hollow Man thread. Nevermind still rape.
>>
>>214369124

>>

>>214372767
Assuming he doesn't get caught doing the action of teleporting on camera (i.e. he always "jumps" off-frame) it'd actually be a pretty interesting case from detective and prosecution's perspective
>We have him on tape stealing from the vault, we even found a few hairs that were confirmed to be his
>But we also have him on tape at a bar LITERALLY a thousand miles away only a few minutes later. He's even wearing the same clothes!
>We checked the hospital records, he isn't a twin
>We had a tech team check the videos, the timestamps are accurate and there was no editing involved
>What the fuck happened here?

Even if we went with this idea >>214372704
>We have his DNA from the victim's rape kit
>But we also have his DNA from where he spat on the ground outside the bar 1000 miles away a few minutes earlier/later
>>
>>214372676
>How would he launder the money?
You simply buy stuff with cash.
>What happens when banks put CCTV in their vaults and he inevitably gets spotted?
Police starts looking for you but you can be anyone anywhere on the planet, you're relatively safe.
>How do you arrest him if he can just disappear?
Apparently a taser does the job, and I assume some sort of Faraday cage would be used to keep the teleportman in cell.
>>
>>214372676
>What happens when banks put CCTV in their vaults
Wear a mask, do it in countries far away from you and preferably always different countries. That should make sure they don't even figure out what's going on in the first place, but you could also try doing it at relatively small banks out of the way that are unlikely to be decked out. Even small towns need banks.
Hardest part would be scoping them out without getting spotted actually.
>>
>>214372676
>What happens when banks put CCTV in their vaults and he inevitably gets spotted?
are you retarded? wear a mask and gloves, and even if leave DNA it's one guy out of 7 billions on the planet
anyway there are countless ways to hack life semi-legally. I'd personally open a restaurant or cafè, get the food done in some shithole where the food is good and dirt cheap, and charge twenty times what I actually spend to get it. and this is just one example
>>
>>214372676
>What happens when banks put CCTV in their vaults and he inevitably gets spotted?
We end up with the "Death Note" fallacy where people say he would get caught.
Okay, convince a jury that the same guy, withing a two hour difference managed to phase through the walls of three different banks. How? Your honour, magic or something, put him in prison?
>>
>>214373826
If you really wanted to throw people off, you could do it all in one far away country, and always teleport in from nearby the bank on camera. Teleport nearby a couple times after the robbery and hope you get caught on camera again.
If you really think it's inevitable that your powers will get sussed out this is the best way to fight it, pretend you can only teleport short distances.
You could also pretend you can only phase through walls but it's harder to pull off.
>>
They should have had the scene from the book where the leads fuck for the first time and the girl is all like “wow you sure this is your first time?” and the faggit mic responds

It's a fun, light and entertaining movie and I miss this type of movies. Back in the day you always had some cool short action films with linkin park on soundtrack, and they didn't aim at becoming a cinematic universe or even to get sequels.

>>
Not sure there'd be much to do after having the rest of your life secured having gotten money, outside of fucking around exploring the world, going from a random rooftop in Vegas to a random rooftop in Hokkaidō and the like. The issue would be for people that get bored easily and would try to abuse their powers more and more until they'd fuck up and either be found out, caught or end up dead.
>>
>all of these wagies imagining committing petty crime with teleportation ability
you wouldn't even need money with this power. most money goes toward bills which you wouldn't have. no need for transportation, no need for permanent shelter because there's free shelter all over the place if you know where it is, etc. even food is free in the right places if you really don't want to hustle, though you still could and it would be much easier being able to teleport. instadoordash and chill

I've always wondered how early super natural crimes would be prosecuted. I assume some version of we know it's him. You know it's him. We don't know how, but that doesn't mater. The law doesn't need a how. Only a motive and proof they did it.
Like jumper would be brought down by marked bills. Then charged with possession of VS theft. He would jump away of course but would mostly live on the run.

I liked the movie, it was entertaining. Assuming I wouldn't be hunted, I'd just hire other jumpers like me and start a logistics business. The movie makes a point of being able to jump both yourself and other humans and objects, therefore I would just jump shipping containers all around the world and make lots of cash legally. Work does not make you a slave, but you or that other poster clearly holds a worldview which does not include being an owner of anything or working autonomously. It's as if the original post can't even comprehend it. And there are apparently no loftier goals than grinding away indefinitely for the sake of it? Thus, slave mentality.

>The OC actress, 41, who previously dated comedian Bill Hader, revealed she did not have an orgasm during sexual intercourse until she was 38 as she waxed lyrical about intimacy in a conversation with comedian Whitney Cummings.
>Bilson declared: 'Isn't that crazy?' as she recounted her experience, but did not reveal who she shared the encounter with.
>Cummings then revealed she was able to orgasm through intercourse in the last year after quitting birth control.
>Last year Rachel confirmed her previous romance with Hader, which ended in 2020, the year she turned 39.
>Bilson was previously in a decade-long on/off romance (and 18-month engagement) with actor Hayden Christensen, which ended in September 2017. The pair share a daughter Briar-Rose, eight.

It would inevitably turn out similar to this movie. Odds are you aren't the only one with the powers. Have others had it before in the past? Present? Future? Lots of research and experiments to test the extent of it. After acquiring money, you would probably also get doctors and scientists to run tests on you. You'd probably live a monk-type lifestyle as you learned more and more about the powers. You'd have to debate letting anyone know because people would want to try and replicate it.

Yeah how are you going to melt 147 million ounces of gold you stupid nigger? What, you teleported into one of the most secure vaults in the world one night and took everything you could to some abandoned bunker or something in the middle of nowhere now what? The most powerful organization in the world knows who you are now because they either ID'd your face, got your DNA, tracked your phone, or got it any other number of ways they have setup in Fort Knox to stop people from stealing from it. And now they're looking for a guy who has a gigantic amount of gold. Even stupider than just knocking out safe deposit boxes like in the movie.

Between the gold and the cash you can clean a single cash 4 gold place out for 6 figures and the only people looking for you are going to be local pd. Hit a few of those and a few dispensaries and you've got enough money to not have to worry about anything again in your life, and literally nobody is looking for you. I mean fuck, if you really want to hit a big vault you'd be better off hitting something like BASF or Johnson Matthey where you'll still probably have to deal with the feds but not at the same level as if you stole from the feds.

I made the mistake of watching the TV show Impulse. DO NOT make the same mistake. It's trash. There is one (1) good moment where a dude with the power shoots his kid when cornered, very unexpected. The rest is 95% teen drama trash. Second season is much worse and goes full woke with interracial couples, white men bad, sexual harassment preaching, you name it. Read the books if you want more in that universe, they are ok, not good, not bad, but much better than the show at least.

I could smelt gold with a blowtorch and an aluminum pot, but instead I'm going to teleport into every fed base until I find the tracking sheet of all "giant furnaces" and then teleport between all of them smelting gold simultaneously in short bursts just because you said I couldn't.
When the feds catch up to me to arrest me or point a gun at my head, I teleport away to a non giant furnace area.
Oh what's that, but I'd lose the last batch of gold when I get caught?
What a shame. I definitely won't just teleport into the fed evidence locker and take it back once it's cooled, or better yet, teleport somewhere entirely different and grab some more.
Do you not get what teleportation allows you to actually do?

You're not an ambitious self-starter if you're looking down on workers who form 99% of all production as slaves for not being obsessed with specifically material pursuits outside of their job.
The world doesn't function if everyone wants to be an entrepreneur.
You're not business-minded if you think agreeing to do something for money makes you a slave.
You're a nepo baby or a LARPing NEET trying to console yourself. Either way, you need to stop being such a repulsive subhuman kike.
The first world wasn't built by kikes like you, it was built by wage workers who used to put in 60-70 hour weeks.

There's no point in discussing how to evade the paladins because they'll eventually track you down no matter what. You could make a M. Night Shyamalan sort of film out of that. Have the entire movie is just a courtroom drama of some dude being charged for committing a crime using superpowers and the prosecution has to try and prove he has them.

Petty, vindictive shit.
If someone ahead of me in line wasted time asking about what's in the meatball sauce at Subway or someone in public was having a phonecall using speaker mode, I'd follow them into the bathroom and teleport them into the middle of the Antarctic.
Stuff like that.

you think blowtorches look hot because fire's hot, but metal needs to be nearly as hot as the sun to melt, or it wouldn't be metal.. think about it. did you ever see someone's watch melt on a hot day? there you go.
as for your idea of teleporting to every furnace, you hadn't seen them before and no one showed you inside the federal evidence locked so you aren't going in there either.
