I hate how the multiverse is basically the coolest concept ever and Hollywood managed to make it boring and uninteresting in just a year or two. Take The Flash for example. In the original story and animated film, Flash by saving his Mom accidentally wrecks the timeline in ways he never could've predicted, making things similar and yet very different. Batman isn't Bruce Wayne but is instead his Dad, and instead of being a good guy for justice, Thomas Wayne Batman is much more rough, uses guns, isn't above killing, bitter over the death of his son, etc. It's a cool way of keeping something we know but then flipping it around. Now, they took all that and just went: LET'S BRING MICHEAL KEATON BACK, WOW! HE'S SAYING ALL HIS OLD LINES. ISN'T THAT COOL??? Now multiverse stuff is used purely for fanservice to bring back old iterations that we all loved, instead of.. doing actually cool and clever alternate versions. It's a total misuse and disappointing version of the many world's theory, and as a result now it's become very very old before it's barely had a chance to begin.
multiverse is for greedy suits who want infinite rehashes
>>214382900retard, multiverse was never cool
>>214382900Even in the comics it's (over)used to have a bunch of knockoff versions of the actual characters. Sometimes interesting, often not.
>>214382900Don't listen to the OP. You are right, the multiverse has interesting implications. It sucks that the general public only got it from shows like Rick and Morty (which is still a 6.5-7 show) and capeslop. Yes I grew up in the 90s watching Sliders.
>>214382900Peacemaker Season 2 is not even finished and it's already a better multiverse story than The Flash and any MCU slop, simply because it's being used for character building instead of member berries.
>>214383079To the OP, Them OP
>Im Man
is he stupid?
Marvels What If stuff kinda did it correctly, had fun and killed characters because it was fucking comic books, shit wasnt cheap either and it got sacrificed on Disney÷. Continuity in comic book movie was always a mistake.I like to think Keaton did it as a middle finger to everyone, but he already did Bird Man so im not sure.
>>214382900He's not Batman anymore. He's something even more powerful.
>>214382900gayest batman ever.. didn't even rape the joker
>>214383254the what if comics were fun because they actually answered fan questions and were testing grounds for future ideas in the main universe, the show was just mostly about pairing characters together and an embarrassing amount of wank for the Captain Carter OC. There are a couple of okay episodes but not enough to really justify anything
>>214382900>>214383254Remember that WB:1. wanted to get rid of Affleck2. needed someway to get people talking after the fuck up with Whedon's Justice League3. wanted as little to do with Snyder as possibleSo they got Michael Keaton as Batman. Keaton probably did it because they were paying a lot and he would just be doing high-paid cameos in subsequent films (ie Batgirl) to tie the films together
It's the same in the comics, you're just too much of a manchild to notice. Capeshit movies only truly approached comic book quality when they started this multiversal downtrend in standards.
>>214382900multiverses are the best way if you want to make anything as uninteresting and low stakes as possible. its THE "i´m creatively bankrupt" card
Multiverse shit was boring and stupid from the start.
