Honest opinion on nu-lex
>>
>>214393263
> nu-lex

Let me guess, you’re mad Lex wasn’t a Kingpin knockoff. In other words, you don’t know shit about the character
>>
>>214393263
Everyone in that movie is written so immaturely. People will have such embarrassment from ever saying they liked this movie once the astroturfed hype dies down
>>
>too creatively bankrupt to write a hero that isn't the exact same generic scrappy underdog
>therefore have to make the villain absurdly overpowered
>therefore have to make the villain a bumbling retard in order to have him lose
many such cases
>>
I liked him. He's a good modern bad guy audiences can enjoy. If they made him a slick manipulative supergenius rather than an egotistical manchild billionaire people at this day and age would just get bored.
>>
>>214393329
When was Lex ever a kingpin clone you absolute retarded?
>>
>>214393263
Unironically he did nothing wrong. Superman was just a dick.
>>
>>214393484
STAS
>>
>>214393505
He supported the in-universe version of Netanyahu?
>>
>>214393263
I liked it, particularly the complete sense of impunity they gave him. I found that pretty chilling.
>>
>>214393559
that character was not netanyahu, the fictional conflict combined some elements of Putin and Netanyahu but created something distinct from either.
>>
>>214393586
He is nothing like Putin
>>
>>214393464
Lex has always been an egotistical manchild. Syndrome in The Incredibles is suppose to Lex Luthor. Brilliant but jealous of Mr Incredible. Makes a fortune on his inventions so he can go after superheroes and makes a super suit so he can be one. Even got red hair which Luthor originally had
>>
>>214393263
Far superior to grandmas tea
>>
>>214393594
and he's nothing like netanyahu
>>
>>214393618
Oh, not a comicfag. I always assumed he was more like a Russian oligarch mixed with a technocrat. Guess I was wrong.
>>
>>214393263
>my pussy when guys talk about Superman.jog
You give the ick
>>
>>214393263
No Hackman but better than Eisenberg. I didn't see the Kevin Spacey version.

Good take on the character. Gunn clearly read Lex Luthor: Man of Steel and took some notes from it, but while that comic portrayed Lex as believing himself to be noble and righteous, Gunn had Lex use similar reasoning while being fully aware that he's really doing it for his own ego. Which made for a good villain I think.
I wasn't really on board with Hoult's casting but he turned out better than I expected. Definitely takes a fat dump on Eisenberg at any rate.
>>
>>214393263
Hes a faggot
He should be killed
>>
Looks like Billy Corgan
>>
>>214393344
>Everyone in that movie is written so immaturely.
Anon, it's literally capeshit. Like, it's the capeshittiest of capeshit. He literally wears a cape, which doesn't actually occur in a lot of capeshit. If you ask people to close their eyes and picture a famous superhero, he's top 3 if not 1 most iconic.
So yes, it's immature.

Was he cast better in this role?
>>
>>214393686
>I didn't see the Kevin Spacey version
I thought he was pretty good.
>>
>>214393749
Superman is not supposed to be immature... Why are gen X cancer so obsessed with cucking Superman?
>>
>>214393787
The literal concept is childish af
>>
>>214393778
Spacey was generally really good in everything he was in
>>
>>214393770
Yes
>>
>>214393818
really disliked him in margin call and baby driver
>>
>>214393883
>baby driver
It's like the role wasn't even written for Spacey. Spacey is best when he can be his snarky self not as a father-figure/mentor character.
>>
>>214393787
> Superman is not supposed to be immature.

Again you faggots don’t know shit about Superman. There is a was an entire website called Superman Is a Dick aka superdickery dedicated to Superman’s immature antics through the years
>>
>>214393913
Bro that was literally a bunch of jokes taken out of context from Silver Age era comic books. No wonder retards like James Gunn are directing in Hollywood; you niggers learn pop culture from meme articles.
>>
>>214393263
a faggot

He went full retard a couple of times, killing the Paki, the monkeys, Gunn should have made the "we've won!" meme and I hate the ending with the dog, 7/10.
>>
>>214393263
Worst Lex by far, second only to Eisenberg. He was too much of an assmad high schooler to ever come off as threatening. Which I know is the point, but it was still disappointing.
>>
His room full of people inputting fighting game combos was kind of stupid because that's way too fucking slow to fight Superman. Other than that I liked him.
>>
>>214393961
Wasn’t jokes. Superman always been immature. Golden Age version it borderline on psychopath. He’d crack jokes while hanging people out windows or laugh as rips wings off air planes. He was always a wise ass. Silver Age he was more of super man child but so was Batman. But that back when comics were read and made entirely for kids. Shocking to think
>>
>>214393913
Write NIGGER so i know youre not a shill
>>
you can't have him shoot someone in the head and then go back to getting slapstick thrown around the room by the cgi dog, pick a lane
>>
>>214394056
That was a Jeet, they were not human
>>
>>214394051
>He’d crack jokes while hanging people out windows or laugh as rips wings off air planes
Wow the sensibility of people was different back then, water is wet!
Superman also protected the rights of the working class yet you never seen that in a capeshitter flick; it's like you're saying they should make a movie about Batman carrying a revolver and wearing a purple mask, trying to murder the Joker, those comics didn't crystallize into the canon as the character's mythos proper even though they came first, that's why DC retconned the entire golden and silver age to Earth 2 after Crisis On Infinity Earths.
>>
>>214393263
Dumber than The Batman's riddler
>>
>>214394054
NIGGER

Best DC villain.

Fite me
>>
>>214394056
Lex pushed a cop out into movie trainer in Donner’s movie. Also killed a security guard when they stole Kryptonite and was going to nuke East and West coast all while being comedic relief
>>
>>214394124
Would he even be memorable if they didn't add the stupid voice in post?
>>
>>214394104
I’m saying Superman always been immature and had flaws. He’s not suppose to be perfect or God like. He is a man like alien with powers hence SuperMAN! Not SuperGod. That is why people think Superman is boring. Nobody wants to watch a boring symbol
>>
>>214394163
He has gravitas in his dialogue.
>>
It was good because the actor is so incredibly talented that he could deliver the cheesy Rocky Balboa speech, but for a villain. It didn't come off as bad because of his voice, face, and acting.

Ultraman and the woman who’s a machine were good too, and she was attractive, maybe because of her hairstyle and suit.
His 'Rocky Balboa' speech, where he's talking about being jealous and proud of it, was only good because the actor is so skilled. And the 'Rocky Balboa' motivational speech from Superman at the end about being human, not an alien.

This dude was incredible in Mad Max 2015 and every kind of character he played.
>>
>>214394124
>scrawny manlet with goatse mask
>dies like a bitch

yeah, great villain, bud.
>>
>>214394216
This board is full of botslop posts now. Fucking cancer
>>
>>214394203
Doesn't change that he sounds like Deckard Cain doing a Sean Connery impression.
>>
>>214394163
No one cared about who he was until he put on the silly voice.
>>
he was good but felt a little too scrawny to be Lex, much better than Eisenberg though. funny that Hoult was almost cast as Superman
>>
>>214394292
> he was good but felt a little too scrawny to be Lex,

Lex isn’t Kingpin
>>
>>214394189
You clearly never read a single comic book in your life and is now just ctrl+C the same ol argument, jeet. Don't talk to me again.
>>
Love him in Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness
>>
>>214394310
I'm not saying Kingpin but he isnt a lanky guy
>>
>>214393913
Why do plebbitors think that critiques of a character are what should define said character?
>>
>>214394370
>>
>>214394216
He wasn't even a character in MM15
>>
>>214394310
he's also not a soifaggot
>>
>>214393263
I hate it. Literally nothing about him is similar to Lex. He looks like a highschool kid who just got through puberty wearing a bald cap. He doesn't have a charismatic "leader" voice you'd expect Lex to have. I don't expect Lex to look like Ronnie Coleman but nu-Lex is too scrawny to the point of looking goofy. He feels more like a bald overdramatic theatre kid dropout.
The Snyder kike Lex is the worst one though. Nu-Lex is 2nd worst.
>>
>>214394431
yeah but at least Snyder's Lex comes with the admission that it's a reinvention of the character. Gunnjeets will swear up and down that this version is faithful because it shares a bit of dialogue from some random comic that they haven't read.
>>
Synder understood Lex far better than Gunn. This guy was more of a comic relief character than a genius.
>>
>>214394431
Tell me right now the comic book versions of Lex you are basing what Lex is suppose to be off of
>>
>>214393263
>Honest opinion
Nice kick in the balls for generation narcissist
>>
The only interesting part was him being actually aware that he is obsessed with superman
>>
>>214393710
>gunn scum still too stupid and subhuman to appreciate the terrifying genius of Eisenberg's exquisite Lex
You scum deserve to die
>>
>>214393263
Too pretty for Lex
>>
>>214394163
of coursh
>>
>>214394489
>at least Snyder made it dogshit on purpose
lolololololol
>>
>>214394973
More or less. He was entertaining throughout to me but him acknowledging readily he's a jealous cunt I liked rather than Superman being like 'u r jelly' being some gotcha moment that exposes him and makes him psychologically crumple
>>
literally the only live action lex luthor not to obsessed with wigs and having long hair. weird character trait for hackman’s luthor that bizarrely became some sacrosanct requirement for every movie luthor until gunn came along and was like, no. that is stupid. fifty years of bullshit until someone who actually read comic books decided to make a superman movie
>>
Not as fun as Eisenberg but he did alright.
>>
>>214393263
Finally watching and seeing he's just bald Elon in this incarnation made all of the jeets seething on the internet about the movie make a lot more sense.
