Ive been on 4chan since 2008 and I don't know what an isekai is. Also, the only animes I've ever seen were the ones shown on Adult Swim circa 2003-2006.

I read a thing recently on how China is dumping tons of money into animation to try to control American culture. Where Japan is still focused on the occasional successful moeblob show, China and Korea (which China invests heavily into) are putting tons of money into grand adventures and animation quality with the full intent of pushing Chinese ideals onto the west, who are rampant for anime. The west is fighting a two-sided culture war - one of the Russian conservatism, and the other of Chinese state-owned capitalism.
Good, me and the anime boys have been, off of anime since the start of elbaf. Good thing the Koreans don't understand isekai is code for human trafficking.

I read the first Lord of the Mysteries book. It was a pretty good read, even though the translation was kinda garbage. Like, who the hell uses the word "lampoon"?Saw some episodes of the animated series. It's trying way too hard to turn it into fast paced action shlock and it fucks with the structure by having all the subplots play out one after another rather than having the running concurrently. Makes it much less engaging.

The show is nicely animated but it feels like the cliff notes version of the story. What makes the book fun too read is that it basically turns Chekhov's Gun into an artform.
