There's so many adult actresses who want to break into the industry, competing for so few roles for adult actresses, that getting cast is nearly always going to come down to some sort of backroom quid-pro-quo arrangement where the actress has to bring something to the table independent of just themselves. At least the casting couch gave women without connections a chance to break into the industry. These days, unless you had been getting work since you were 13 years old and are thus a known quantity, you have no shot unless you have family with connections in the industry that can trade favors with the producers, or who are just rich enough to buy your way in.
