OH SHIT I'M FEELING IT
>>
There is not a flex more incredible than saying you inspired a band’s album and being able to prove it but unfortunately you’d have to reveal everything about who you are and also no one would actually really care.

I am glad death grips is getting attention even if it is through a memey.
>>
>>214406564
Me too but it's rather disrespectful, considering their explosive expression and creativity. I can't imagine myself performing like Ride on stage and having millions of views with people unanimously shitting on you in the comments as the only "feedback". Being in the public eye is pretty vulnerable if you think about it. Maybe it's all good fun and DG don't care.

Being a ghost writer is literally a job on the market happening right now

what? i thought death grips were basically mainstream nowadays and have been for a long time. they have almost 700k monthly listeners on spotify. that's not niche. the whole group has always been private and never cared about opinions from the public or fans anyways.
>>
>>214407896
Popular among a small group, not mainstream. Closest I would say is the bojack horseman episode where they are tripping.
>>
>>214404387
This image reminds me of the scene in Dead Man's Shoes. Is it the same thing?
>>
>>214408334
maybe but they never felt underrated or niche to me since i first listened to them in like 2015. i wish more bands scratched that DG itch but they're still pretty unique as far as punk or experimental goes. YOTS kind of sucked though i'd be fine if they were done for good despite them saying they're not broken up just yet.

>>214407896
There's many ways to be popular, in DG's case they're popular as a punchline of a reddit joke, check any yt comment section. Are all those millions of views fucking ironic or does someone out there genuiney like them and enjoy their music? I guess I don't understand the fanbase

music is the most subjective thing on the planet, but if you still find death grips uniquely different or find it hard to believe plenty of people wouldn't enjoy their sound then you just don't listen to much music period.

that you, blackie?
>>
>>214410017
It's not that, I've listened to over a thousand of bands and musicians at this point including extreme acts recently, it's just that I don't think I've ever seen anyone say something as simple as
>I like DG
>wow they're good
in like 10 years now, only jokes, that's what I don't get, the comment section is mostly derogatory jabs, which I don't think I've seen in any other fanbase. Take a look at the 'no love' comments above
>>
>>214408749
I do. I saw them twice.

It's probably a subconscious fear of public shaming. Like if they say they like death grips out loud society will banish them
