MGS could never work as a movie because there is just way too much need for exposition, and that always translates poorly to the silver screen. Also all the weird japanese puns being major plot points would be a struggle to properly adapt. Either you keep them in and alienate the normies or you cut them and alienate the retards who are fans of this franchise.
