why did it flop?we could've had Riddick cinematic universe rivaling DUNC right now
Change the title to >RED DICKor >RID DICK ULOUSand you'll be allowed back home, Timmy.
>>214410065Michael Cane is going to starr in this slop ? Kek I guess not many people know that.
I like the film but I can see some reasons for the flop.>"Necromongers" sounds stupid>Many people saw Vin as a bit of a joke and refused to take him as seriously as he seemed to take himself when playing Riddick>The reveal that Riddick left the girl from the first film to get gang-raped on probably a daily basis on the prison planet would not have endeared the character to the women and white knights in the audience
>>214409986came out way too lateits one of the movies i remember watching for the first time on its HBO premier
>>214410086No he isn’t
>>214410244>The reveal that Riddick left the girl from the first film to get gang-raped on probably a daily basis on the prison planet would not have endeared the character to the women and white knights in the audiencekek she left the city to go after Riddick and got betrayed.
>>214409986IT's got some weird stuff like inexplicably having elementals which seem kind of random, but overall it's a very fun movie with some freat sets and costumes.
>>214409986The first one was a low budget genre cult film that took influence from other space horror flicks and this tried to follow it up by borrowing from loads of things like Dune and going epic space opera mode, but the demand just wasn’t there for that. It’s very different in tone from the first film, like trying to follow up Alien with Lord of the Rings (not that any of these are as good as either of those, and they certainly didn’t have the budget to do the effects they wanted to do, which people slated at the time) which turned off a bunch of the actual fans, and it wasn’t interesting looking enough to lure in loads of people who weren’t already familiar with the first. Interesting move but flawed logically. Who’s it actually for? Vin Diesel, mostly. Typically it’s probably the most interesting of the three films just because it did go in a weird direction
The second one was too ambitious for its time but great, same thing that happened to Matrix Reloaded. Diesel ruined everything by trying capture the tone of the first one again instead of doing like an insane gory third film to capture the horror audience. Now he’s too old and fat to play the character.
Its a really good hard science movie.. I could care less about Vin, and besides fast 1, 2 fast, and Tokyo , iv always see that franchise as a joke . That being said Vin Desil is really good here and I re-watch it all the time
Entire cast is kino as well.
I wanted to see him be in power but that would take away the rough and tumble, swashbuckler appeal of the character.
>>214409986Necromongos blow dick
>>214409986It was simply too kino for the normie audience.
>>214409986Normalfags can't handle space opera.
Katie Sackhoff titties in the third one were a real treat
>>214409986Vin Diesel stinks.
kino, SOVL
this kind of sci fi thing was not cool with normies back then
I watched the DC for the first time a few months back and it's kino overload, shame it flopped so badly they had to discard everything in the third one
>>214416901DC has some fucking retarded shit in it though. All the goofy flashbacks and magic Furyan powers are stupid as hell.
>>214416104It's the steroids. His back is probably covered in constantly oozing cysts.
strictly inferior to the first
>>214410244The prison part was the good part. The whole necromonger thing was badly written. Up until there, thet Riddick universe was gritty and somewhat realistic. Small space ships, stuff breaks, prisons, bountyhunters, pilgrims, all are small groups in a vast space. Then you get that crusade of a deathcult full of superior warriors, their leader has magic powers, there are air elementals, humongous ships, etc. Just changed the whole tone of the universe. I don't think the necromongers as an idea are unsalvagable and I do like the ending where the lone warrior is suddenly the king of a warrior cult, but as a sequel to Pitch Black that half or two thirds of the movie was horrid.
>>214409986DUNC is unfaithful to the source material and has the modern-film-disease of amateurish cgi and use of color, brutalist ugliness, and race and sex swaps for political and award-baiting reasonsAnyway I'm good with just Pitch Black
killed Claudia too early
