>>214411283If you’re a pretentious wine snob, YES. I refuse to drink anything about cab

Almost without exception, this director is a kino factory.

>>214411192The point is, merlot sucks.
all these faces give me uncanny valley so I can’t watch it
>>214411192>I don't get it.be thankful you don't, it's a bad sign if one gets this film
Reminder that the only reason why pic related was in the movie was because her husband was the director. She manipulated him into so many script changes that the author of the novel the movie is based on completely eliminated her character from the sequel books.
>>214411818I get it
Had this moment but it was with a shoe instead of a wine.
>>214411886Dont care the part where she is getting her back blown out by Thomas Haden Church is hot

>>214411192>I don't get it.sometimes you meet someone wonderful who you could see yourself loving dearly, but your own chudded out incel tendencies will always shine through and you will always self sabotage and leave the most wonderful friends you ever knew and die alone
>>214411192We watched this in intro to cinema in college, ~2009. I didn’t get it either.
>>214411192What kind of piece of shit steals money from their mother?
>>214411886damn she hit the wall. I can't believe I used to think she was hot in Greys anatomy.

>>214411192The parents love this movie, particularly mom. Mom has a thing for Paul Giamatti desu, her annual ritual is to watch John Adams around the Fourth of July.
>>214411283As a poorfag, I've only drank bottom tier gutter wine. Merlot sounds like a godsend to me.
>he thinks it’s about wine
>i refuse to imbibe any d*mn merlotteWhat was his problem?
>>214414039i like reading up on the history of it all before rewatching john adams so much stuff was included
the very definition of blind luck. some retarded critics said they liked it and it just snowballed from there. lemmings and blind mice following and copying each other. the same movie would flop if it were released at any other point in time against something more competitive. this was also before the 2008 financial panic, so people were just going gangbusters for wine and lusting for whatever could make them feel a little snobby. i can't remember a single "good" moment from the movie. it's 4/10 simply because the director is good at telling a road trip story. but the characters are all unlikeable, and the potential romance is unbelievable. only pseuds and nerds like this shit.
alexander paynes films arent for everyone but if u like one generally you might like them alli didn't enjoy sideways until i got older then it became actually funny and relatable
>>214416182I’ve heard enough from you.
>>214416182i haven't seen it in a long time, but i still remember the scene where he sees his ex-wife with her new husband, and remember thinking the acting was good.
>>214416182>the characters are all unlikeableThis is the common reaction to films that present believable human behavior rather than the Hollywood poses they're used to seeing.
>>214416298>>214416182It's a middle aged love story. When you've fucked enough you learn to shortcut the niceties.
