>>214411991it gets old really quick. Horror is built upon people encountering an unknown threat, being overwhelmed, panicking, fleeing for themselves and doing the wrong thing. It's like the opposite of a military squad. So they have to be portrayed as woefully incompetent like Aliens and that just gets tedious after a few movies. Or the monster is overpowering like Predator and the sequels have to keep one upping it until it's ridiculous.
