Just finished watching S2 and it came off as very Feminist and mean spirited in much of the writing. Comstantly putting men down off handly and they also notched up Wednesdays bitchyness by a ton. She used to always be sardonically detached but this season she's downright aggressively mean spirited to almost everyone she talks too. Total mood kill. Overall I thought it was decent but a step down from S1. If they can hire new writers who don't have blue hair and sand in their vag about anything male, I might watch the next.

Ortega and Myers were both in other projects between the first and second season, with Ortega in at least 6 movies, and Myers in three movies and a British TV show between seasons. Tim Burton directed Beetlejuice 2 (starting Ortega), between the two seasons, and he’s the showrunner and also directed a bunch of episodes of Wednesday. Given how frequently Netflix cancels shows after 1 season, nobody likely knew a second season would even get made, so all the important cast members had to be scheduled for, and it’s not like Ortega or Myers could easily be dropped from the cast. The same crap used to happen with British shows were a certain number of episodes would be ordered, made, and broadcast, before a second season was ordered, so some shows had large gaps between seasons. The actors on those US broadcast TV shows could also wind up suddenly out of work, with little warning because of this, although I suspect main actors actually had contracts guaranteeing full seasons worth of work, or at least a full season of paychecks, given how many leads on shows that got cancelled would wind up on another show from the same network, or on another show produced by the same studio or production company. By constantly cancelling crap, Netflix basically can’t easily guarantee access to thr same actors quickly. Amazon used to have the same issue when they started making shows for Prime.
