Why has Hollywood lowered the bar with CGI on big budget films? Is it no longer a good return on the investment? Was it just a gimick like 3D movies? Too many CGI companies competing for lowest bid? People just look at their phones while watch movies so who cares? Inflation? Streaming services overtaking movie theater experience?

I've heard from Possum that more a d more movies are being simplified because they know people who are on their phones will lose the plot if they are only giving the movie half their attention.

None of this matters. The advent of AI-generated content is upon us. Hollywood will replace their animators for something that costs little to nothing. It's inevitable.

AI was already used in the latest Gunn slop. No way humans animated this.

You're right. Indians animated it.

why the fuck people are doing the same stupid question all the time in this fucking board? itsbecause of time, the industry is releasing movies at a rate thats impossible for VFX teams to do a decent job, also, even with high budget movies, producers are paying pennies for the job, thats why

A single Indian man has more humanity in his big toe than any fucking chatbot ever created.

CGI doesn’t need to be good when your smarmy shithead glasses wearing contrarian gen x director uses an anamorphic lens to make everything blurry I mean go *whoosh*

No

Literally what is the appeal in this. Who watches it? I thought we were done with the 'beats someone epically up for minutes for it to have zero actual effect' fight thing

Your Jeet hatred is justified, but misplaced. Unfortunately I can't find the Poo CGI to show you just how much worse their stuff actually looks.

The problem is just Supply and Demand. Streaming put way too much pressure on the industry which is why you're getting so much CGI slop that looks worse than stuff that came out 20 years ago.

Nothing in this webm has bad CGI. It's just Patty Jenkins being incompetent at directing action. Snyder carried her ass in WW1.

Do you have to ask? The answer to the question of "why isn't this as good as it used to be?" Is practically always "Because it was decided it was too expensive."

That's just the story of... everything for the past 30 years. We just can't have nice things as long as some ghoul feels like they can safe money by making them less nice.

But they spend more and more
The answer is more pernicious. Overall competence and quality is on a decline as culture and human quality declines
