>its actually funny
>black crime joke in current yearI'm literally shaking I can't even
>>214417131its an obvious McFarlane flick but in this day and age its good. Nowhere near as good as the original 3. The snowman shit is something more like scary movie
>>214417131second half fell flat but the shitting his pants scene was fucking hilarious
>>214417131It's better than the 3rd, but not in the same legue with the 1 and 2.
>>214417131>itsAnd yeah it was alright.
A reboot like this not being overwhelmingly despised by the whole internet is pretty much the highest honor it could ever achieve
>>214417164>character saying retarded in current yeargot a hearty kek and an even bigger one when i saw a "professional" critic bitching about "the r-word" on rotten tomatoes

>>214417131he just cant deliver dead pan lines as good as leslie neilson. https://youtu.be/7JuierqRy9A?si=D4wCeYLS306UOae_
Yes it was, feels like one good comedy comes out every few years now. This is the one.
>>214417201>The snowman shit is something more like scary movieReminded me more of the riot scene in Hot Rod. The director clearly loves his surreal left field montages.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVjgY427qW8
>>214417414Disclaimer I watched this with a large group of friends and we were already enjoying our time/each others company so perhaps it facilitated a lighter mood during the film!
>>214417418Hot Rod mogs it but still snowman was quite funny
>>214417336Pretty much this. Everyone I know had serious doubts about this, as we grew up with the Nielsen comedies. I watched it out of curiosity, expecting to, not necessarily hate it, but think it a bad idea.It working was a pleasant surprise. The trailer did it a disservice though, as the movie is not really like it at all.
>>214417131
>>214417336ThisDeck was too stacked against it
>>214417418>Dr. Pavel, I'm CIA
>>214417131>imdb said it would release in Japan on 9/12>none of the kinoplexes here are showing it>doesn’t even appear on the list of released or coming soon movies
>>214417270>better than the 3rdImagine thinking this. Kek
>>214417131I am too awesome to enjoy this movie
>>214417973brown hands typed this
you were arrested before for man's laughter
>>214418269Must’ve been quite the joke
>OM NOM NOM NOM
>>”Are you really willing to throw everything away to achieve the best feeling of your entire life?
>>214418329>DON'T DO IT FRANK!
>>214418356I had five more that day…
>>214417131for me it was the crane
>>214417131it made me consistently laughit was great, especially the dog scene
For me? It's the bodycam footage
>It's a true story based on fictional characters I created.>Lt. Drebin!>Me too!>Can I ask why?>As much as you like.I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in some time.
>>214417131It has its moments but its nowhere near the originals. However its refreshing to have a comedy in the theaters. They are so rare nowadays
>drebin jr watches beth leave and starts narrating internally>entire police squad interrupts with their own internal narrationA few jokes land pretty well. This one reminds me a bit of the “I like cops” scene from the original.
>>214417217>...I had 5 more that day.
Why did he do it bros?
>>214417830i just watched it on my plex nigger
>>214417131The one joke people keep bringing up is horrible reddit humor, so I can't imagine how the rest is.
>>214419750Must’ve been quite the joke
For me, it's the Spirit Halloween banner being hung over the Police Squad building.
>>214419750The funniest parts are not one liners, such as>>214418329And>>214419638
>>214417830Man and I was upset about having to wait so long here in australia
>>214417830I wonder how they changed some of the jokes.>>214418269In Italian they changed it, because manslaughter is "omicidio colposo" so the joke was he read it as "omicidio polposo" polpo means octopus ,so he asked him like "what did that Octopus ever did to you? "I think there was another wordplay that didn't come through though.
>>214419750Heh
>>214419252I like how that and other jokes were setup with a payoff, the movie is surprisingly consistent.
>>214417434Nice
>>214418329I don't know if he said that in the english version, but in french version he said something that made me laugh the whole film when thinking about it.He said that he can't get hard without having the smell of spoiled milk in his nose.
>>214417392i find it comedic that everyone on reddit and youtube is aching to overshare for no reason like lielsen in this scene
>>214417131>it's not a Naked Gun movieSorry.
>>214417485This was the only "joke" in the whole scene. A done-beofre-1000-times joke that fell flat.
>>214422402Na there's a few jokes in that scene you've missed. Like when he puts a latex glove on one hand to pick up some evidence, but picks it up with the ungloved hand.
Was it really? I hated the trailer.
>Copy European deadpan humor>Add exaggerated visual gags>I don't get it. Why would I watch this over something like In Bruges? Ironically, they couldn't even get an American actor. Why are the Irish so fucking funny?
>>214417131>not Leslie Nielsen
>>214417485the crane operator should have shouted after the drop that he needed more quarters
>>214417131>It’s a “parody” film that doesn’t parody anythingChatGPT doesn’t understand comedy
>>214422940Irony in this post is off the charts.
>>214422957I’d ask you to tell me what this parody movie was parodying but I don’t want your circuits to get fried.
>>214417457>The trailer did it a disservice though, as the movie is not really like it at allYeah I noticed the trailer was frontloaded with scenes from the first 20mins or so of the film that made it seem like a mock-action film. The end result is much more surreal and light on plot like the original Naked Gun trilogy.
>>214423106>every comedy movie has to be a parody of something
>>214419557Yeah that part was hilarious. I also really liked the scene where the bad guy's main henchman gets entrapped in a fake hospital setup, which turns out to be a sting operation against Drebin, which turns out to be a sting operation against Drebin's supervisor
>>214423129Yeah that’s what I thought. It’s called The Naked Gun. Google Leslie Nielsen and get back to me
It was mixed. Had some good jokes but also some completely dogshit bits that would have fit in well in an adam sandler movie. But theres enough jokes coming at you so fast that theres definitely gonna be some that anyone would find funny. 6/10
>>214423147>tv shows can't have movie spinoffs
>>214423219>shill bots can’t bump threads
>>214423191It's got that same "throw it against the wall, throw another one quickly if it doesn't stick" vibe that Airplane and Naked Gun had. As fond of the former as I am, I do want to kill myself every time the disco flashback scene comes on.
For me it was him at the car crash, he puts on his glove, wipes his nose with the same hand the glove is on and picks up the evidence with his naked hand.
