The first season is so good because it's so obvious how the producers are manipulating the events in the show, whilst still having some sort of authentic feel. Plus people are eliminated for literally no reason at all and it has the smartest contestant in the show's history (Michael).It perfectly balances the line between genuine showcase authenticity and the fabricated reality which became the standard immediately as soon as season 2 started.Plus it overall feels lighthearted and there are actually good vibes throughout the show. Gordon seems to actually form a bond with some of the contestants, since it's before he became so famous and out of touch with the common person.It's also got that early 2000s charm
