No, but people were limited in their ability to generate art due to huge time commitments to learn the skills involved. They might have been creative, but lacked the means to put it on paper.
Now that the skill has been significantly reduced, people with creativity but no skill and produce art.

So far we haven't gotten any "great" pieces out of AI. Closest interesting thing done with AI art wise has been those illusion images that look different close up and far away. That's literally it, everything else produced by AI has been trashy slop (porn/glossy crap with boring soulless poses and composition/fake movie trailers/shitty music)

Thinking doesn't make you smart, don't mistake imagination for creativity. Any loser can imagine something, only a true creator (hence the word creativity) can make it into something tangible. Asking a robot to make something for you doesn't make you a creative person.

Of course there is, we see tons of media that have great ideas but are executed poorly.
I might come up with an original story, but lack the patience or the skill to write a novel. With AI, I can bypass that.
Look at an animated movie. If I wanted to create an animated movie, I would have to hire a team of animators to bring my vision to life, something I do not have the money for. Or I can use AI, which will cost me a fraction of the price.

>>214420700
>So far we haven't gotten any "great" pieces out of AI.
It is a very new technology that doesn't have everything it needs right now. You can clearly tell that an AI video or photo doesn't look like real life.
Once it becomes indistinguishable and you can generate long-form projects with it, then we'll see great things.

>>214420726
>only a true creator (hence the word creativity) can make it into something tangible.
Hence, the excitement that AI will bring, since AI can make it tangible.
It's a tool, just like how a Director uses CGI, musical score, stunts, cinematography, etc., to express his imagination and create art.
Bad ideas will still make bad art with AI, but we will have more good ideas in total since it will be more accessible to average people.

>>214420883
Using a one-sentence prompt won't get you good results lol, and AI is probably not at the technological stage to produce something great yet, but the principle remains the same.
It gives people accessibility they previously did not have, just like my example with an animated movie.

You keep droning on accessibility when the goal with AI is to get people hooked on SaaS subscriptions to Jew/Indian ran tech companies. You can have a primitive version on your desktop but you still need an expensive GPU.
It's just not worth it. Make it free and shitskins ruin it and make it expensive then it's no longer accessible.
>>
>>214421049
>You keep droning on accessibility when the goal with AI is to get people hooked on SaaS subscriptions to Jew/Indian ran tech companies.
The technology will get better with time, don't worry.
None of my arguments are talking about a snapshot of AI technology right now; it's more about the concept of using AI for art as a whole.
>>
>>214421113

>I might come up with an original story, but lack the patience or the skill to write a novel.
If you actually believed your story was worthwhile you would take the time to learns the skills and write the novel. The fact that you aren't willing to is you subconsciously admitting that your idea is actually not worth the time and effort and therefore probably not that original or good.

Before you do anything you do a cost/beenfit analysis. You never wrote your novel because the cost outweighed the benefit. The problem isn't just that the costs are high, but the benefit is low. AI lowers the cost but it doesn't increase the benefit. This is why AI is only used to make slop and the argument it's helping creative people finally create is bullshit.

That's what doesn't make sense about the recent "bespoke media" buzzword. If I want an image or a video or something that is purely for me and nobody else, I can imagine it for free, instantly. No need to wrangle some computer program into guessing what's on my mind. I can only conclude that the gen AI people all have aphantasia, or the "the future is bespoke media!" line is a cope, and they look to AI as a path to becoming a popular artist who people pay attention to.
