Which movie is the best of the three?
>>
2
>>
ED2. AOD is too much of a comedy and the first one is basically a demo reel/student film

1 and its not even close

2 and 3, for different reasons

Army of Darkness by far

Army of Darkness by far. I like 1 and 2 a lot, but AOD is so great.

The first one imo, it's a good horror movie. The second one has more comedy, so it loses some point in my book. And the third is just comedy slop imo.

They're all the best depending what you're looking for. 1 for pure horror with a bit of slapstick and lots of visual ideas, 2 for horror comedy with lots of great animations and moments and shitloads of visual ideas, and 3 for pure fun medieval adventure with tributes to Ray Harryhausen.

Army of Darkness by a big margin, although I prefer Evil Dead 2013 over all of them
>>
>>214418557
In spite of clearly being a very early work, and having a shoestring budget, ED1 is still surprisingly effective.

2 is fun, and much more refined, with a lot of really creative stuff going on, but it's also quite a bit more sanitized for the sake of not getting an X rating, and the Deadites just look like Halloween decorations.

I don't even count Army of Darkness because it just feels like a long episode of Hercules or Xena.

My personal favourite is 2, but it's definitely subjective and a solid 'something for everyone' trilogy in general. I like them all for different reasons, and that's probably the case for most people.
>>

I have this print and you're right. Army of Darkness is just in a league of its own. ED 1&2 are fun trashy horror flicks but AoD is a B-masterpiece.

(and that's a good thing)

1 then 2 and then 3 sucks

That's always the response I get when I say that, and that's fine for you, but that's also not what I come to Evil Dead for.

Legit question: Was remake 'Rise' any good at all? I expected it to be CURRENT YEAR triple-boosted trash full of Zoomer fucktards who just don't get it, but trailer/clips looked kinda creepy shit.

All three are amazing. I view the trilogy as a complete set of perfect original horror/comedy, but if I had to choose, it would be Evil Dead. It’s one of the greatest horror movies ever. I watched it as a 10 yr old in the 90’s and it fucked me up for life. I met Bruce over the weekend and he was cool as shit. He signed multiple items including my OG Thorn VHS slip cover pictured here.

Yes, it’s good. All the zoomers in it eventually become possessed and then get absolutely fucking obliterated. I enjoyed it very much. There’s some small humor in it, but overall it’s pretty black in tone.

1 is the best. 2 is remarkably unscary when you watch them back to back and the deadites look like Halloween masks. Normies will gaslight you that that’s how the series was MEANT to be though!!!

>>214418557
I only watch these drunk and I still can't even remember what the difference between 1 and 2 is, AOD is comepltely different but gigakino

For me, it’s the original. It changed the horror game forever and spawned two legends within the film industry, Sam and Bruce. Can’t ask for anything better than that. Also, who doesn’t love a good ol’ Tree branch rape scene! Super kino.

2, but it's not really a trilogy.
