What’s your favourite horror movie?

HereditaryOccultTexas Chainsaw Massacre
The Exorcist
TCM and it's not even closeNo other horror movie and possibly no other film period has come close to how good it is
Kairo. Nothing else has its feeling of creepiness and deep melancholy.
>>214421762TCM (original)Wicker Man (original)The Haunting (robert wise)Evil Dead trilogy
I enjoyed Noroi.
>>214421762>the crew was literally too incompetent to catch the crewman playing the witch on camera>they pretended that was their plan all along>pseuds immediately started defending this shit flaw on the grounds that 'you should use your imagination' and do so to this dayit's a good movie but it's unfinished. A horror movie without monsters is just a suspense thriller.

>>214421762You got it.
>>214421901Holy shit there is a new version!?
rosemary's babyur all plebs
Nothing tops the original Dawn Of The Dead for me. The score, the characters, how it just throws you midway into the zombie infestation at its peak, plus pure 70s kino vibes. Romero's best.
An obscure horror film released in 2010s that holds an IMDB rating of 6,5-6,8
The first 2/3 of Sinister
>>214421762you posted it, friendo
the one where the dumb blonde gets stabbed by the bad man
>>214421762Was this dude /tv/'s favorite character of the trio?Losing the map was a dick move and he complained a lot. But once one of them went missing, he went Alpha Mode and charged into a haunted house to save some dude he just met 2 days ago. That's America strong, baby! Fuck witches! We comin' for you! Can't wait for the sequel where we get revenge.
>>214421762Probably Aliens, I guess. I liked Jacob's Ladder too. Blair Witch is up there too. I've been watching a bunch of the popular horror movies lately and having trouble finding anything actually scary.
>>214425370>the sequel where we get revengehe doesn't know
>>214421901>>214423275Does he mean the Second Sight version? I'm looking it up right now and that seems to be the only "official" other release.

>>214425397That's why Paranormal Activity faded into obscurity and Conjuring just broke the record for an R rated horror film.>protagonist wins in the endSeems like a simple formula. But most horror films leave that part out. Thanks Obama!
Antichrist
>>214422396Guess I prefer suspense thrillers by far then. Because if there's a monster or ghost it gets either comical, animal-scary or sad on rewaches and the horror aspect is lost to me.
>>214421901I usually watch The Blair Witch Project every October and I'm interested in seeing this
>>214426007How do u feel about the Sixth Sense?
>>214425961the scene where Willem DaFoe ejaculates blood make me stop masturbating for like two months.
>>214426029I prefer the 7th Sense... "the smell of crime"starring Dolph Lundgren
>>214421762Immigration Crisis
People are gonna think I'm gay but this was the scariest part of the movie. Mike laughing about throwing the map in the river as they all yell at him. Pure hopelessness.
>>214421762>>214421901>>214426116The remastered version looks clean, she was such a cutie
>>214426029I love it but it's far from horror for me.
>>214426128ay who dis, she cute
>>214426049I don't even remember but that was maybe the intention. The entire end got way out of hand. Love to woods parts though.

>>214426142Paranormal films aren't "horror"?Anybody please confirm?
>>214426128>>214426236I was 8 when this came out and it broke my heart that it wasn't real.
>>214426241I expect 'horror' to downright scare me so that I feel at unease days or even weeks after. If it's just interesting with a paranormal twist it's more like a paranormal thriller. Jumpscare and splatter are gruesome entertainment.
>>214426488So you think SAW films and the Purge are the pinnacle of horror films?Brother, when I die, I'm gonna haunt your ass. You'll see what true horror is!

>>214426532>So you think SAW films and the Purge are the pinnacle of horror films? No, those are popcorn level entertainment for people that like nasty things. I just tried to explain that.
For all the Blair Witch Project fans, this videogame is a must. At least the first volume. Ignore the intro tutorial. It starts at 15:00.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdoKoZl4LAEFor THE SCENE (2:40:50):https://youtu.be/vdoKoZl4LAE?si=BWi6Hj6OszWydwqA&t=9653I wish someone turned this into a mini series. There's so much potential, even if it's just cliches.
>>214426740she's too cute, bros...
>>214428299I love when a video game expands on "lore" of the movie. The Thing video game did this
>>214428341
>>214428414i can fix her... i promise
>>214428299The scariest thing for me about Blair Witch when I was a little kid was when I snuck on to the web site for the original movie. I am not going to say it was well done - I was like 11 - but it did in fact scare the shit out of me, and I believed it at the time for whatever reason.
>>214428461>and I believed it at the time for whatever reason.Me and my buddy went to see American Pie and it was sold out, so we bought tix for Blair Witch not knowing anything a out it.I pissed my pants irl.
I never saw The Blair Witch on release because I never watched anything that was hype. Saw it 10 years later alone in the dark and it scared the shit out of me. My favorite horror is As Above So Below, I just can keep watching that film.
>>214428390I'm not usually one who like "lore" or reads up upon that, but the Blair Witch related stuff always fascinated me. For me it's the perfect horror setting. It has got everything. That videogame did a great job. Honestly, I am almost angry that it got "wasted" on it, i.e. no one played it or knows about it. The managed to incorporate everything mentioned in the film and the faux documentary.>>214428461My first experience was in 2003. I wasn't even that youn, I was 14. I have only heard about it, but living in a 3rd world country it was impossible for me to watch it. Until that one october when it aired on TV. I taped it with my VCR and watched it in the afternoon. It was bright daylight. Once the credits rolled I was sat there for 15 minutes, I could barely move. I was so compelled by it, I didn't even know what to think. I have never seen a horror film like that and I wasn't just scared shitless, I was also obsessed with it.
