So I liked weapons not because it is a perfect horror or that it is some brilliant movie it perfectly encapsulates that the less you understand something and its magic system the more frightening it is.For example a fucken similar movie that I did find incredibly frightening far more then weapons (because fat gay man zombie running to kill you is not frightening) is the happening. That movie is frightening because you have no idea what is going on.Was it he fucken trees who did it?What would make the movie more frightening is if they did not reveled the witch wand they make other spooky things happen and in other houses maybe concentrate on the ant documentary they did have and have more episodes of people going full happening and running into walls or killing themselves. The end of the movie would be the government nuking the town and everyone theorize WTF that was>Virus?>Alien infection?>Bio weapon?>Psychological programing ?>MKULTRA?>Chemicals in the food supply?>genetic engineering of food?>5G?1/2

The movie did become a gory action movie.The ending is so comical that you can play Benny hill music. It feels more like any fairy tale where the kids kill the witch at the endIt reminded me of these Goosebumps TV episodes, like there is one where 2 witches use magic to age the kids and they fight back and feed trick the witches.This proves the less you understand something the more it frightens you. If you understand the magic system and can fight back using it it is not frightening.The most unbelievable part of the movie is the kid who the witch manipulates not only did he obey her he did haveg a literally street hard ass persona and not freak out or break out in tears first day in school after the hypnosis or next to the police making the police separate him from the witch and break down in interrogation As for the logic of the movie it is solid despite others complaining >Herp derp if magic is this powerful why did witches not take over the world at this point?Because:1) They grow old and die and their knowledge dies with themSomething the movie is 100% clear to show2) Magic is limited and not all powerful despite some scenes being bullshit and contradicting this like the instant hypnosis of some people3) The magic is not something you learn in any book you can find in the book store it is discovered by accident or from other witches4)Witches live alone with their knowledge and while it can extend their life they die all of old age in the end

It's not terrible. The first half where you don't understand what the cause is is a 8/10. Then when you get to the hamfisted explanation and the stick you put someone's hair on and break it and everything following is just so stupid and immersion-breaking it goes to 4/10. And I'm being nice because I like the gallon of PCP man.So all in all, a 6/10.
