Why is it so underrated?
Because its not very good. Its dour and grim, falling for the same tired Hollywood trope making medieval England look like the most miserable and colorless place you've ever seen. Chalamet is largely one note, sludging through his lines with deadpan seriousness, taking "heavy is the head that wears the crown" to the utmost extreme, broken only occasionally by RAAARGH I'M ACTING screaming bouts. The only person having fun and providing levity is Pattinson.

It's dull and dear rat boy as a warrior king is insulting. The good Netflix medieval film is the Robert the Bruce one.

They're not the same characters anymore. Pattinson was the only actor I enjoyed watching in the movie.

I blame it on the director, but not sure if the mid-century to 70s costume drama being just filmed theater can be fun again. Branagh tried but it still felt weightless. The only new life breathed into old text recently is Drive My Car!
