this is the movie "A Serious Man (2009)". It's a very jewish film and basically an allegory for a story from the torah. The mc believes himself to be a good person simply because 'he has never done anything wrong in his life', but he constantly suffers set backs and strokes of bad luck. In jewish spiritualism, there isn't really an after life or punishment after death, instead jews believe that god will directly fuck with them if they do something wrong. So the mc goes through his life suffering and not understanding why. He seeks advice from family members, from friends, and from the local rabbis. They each give him a bullshit answer that doesnt really help and leaves him to figure things out on his own.

Both he and his son unfortunately come to the wrong conclusion at the end of the movie, and god's wraith descends upon him. The op is the opening scene from the movie, involving unrelated characters 100s of years prior which the movie speed runs it's 2hr plot line in 5 minutes.

The man meets an older gentleman on the road coming home during a snow storm. His cart had gotten stuck in the mud, and the older man helped him out. Then followed him home to get a bit of food as a payment. The wife claims the old man died last year from a disease and that he is actually a dybbuk, which is a kind of body snatching demon. She's 100% sure he's a monster, and lays down her proof in the typical jewish fashion. Her arguement is 'logical' at least within the context of the setting. The husband doesnt want to argue and doesnt really disagree, he just tries to defuse the sitution with weak ass pilpul. He wants to stay friends with the man, but also not piss off his wife. He wont commit to a side.

The wife works herself into a frenzy and stabs the man in the heart, claiming his lack of blood is proof that hes a walking corpse.... but the blood is just delayed. The old man staggers out and dies in the street and the scene changes.

The movie is kind of a criticism of judism in general and its underlaying insanity. How nobody wants to take responsibility for themselves or others so they will constantly deflect and mislead others, even their own family and friends. Irrational hatred and dismissal of the goyim is also a common trend in the film and it doesnt help the mc at all because his goy neighbors have their shit together way better than he or his clique of jews does. Even though he secretly hates his goy neighbors, constantly talks bad about them behind their back, and think they are conspiring against him, it's only these neighbors that actually stand up for him when the police come for his brother.

It's hard to be a serious man in the jewish community, since everyone is so fake and two faced.

Did you just write this or is it chudpasta? Either way interesting. Not entirely sure I buy it. Jews to me don't see like their main problem is refusal to pick a side
