>considered a bad movie>watch it>it's top tier vampire kinoI don't get the hate
Standards were way higher back then
>>214428043It is a bad movie tho
>>214428043There are many enjoyable mediocre movies that can have a particular appeal for you (or me).In this case vampires + Aaliyah are enough.
>>214428043Aaliyah never looked better.
>>214429008
>>214428043it was less a movie and more a Korn b-side album
I still miss her bros https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTA0RuZoIxM
>Cold, we're so cold>We are so>Cold, we're so cold
>>214428043Yeah, it's a really fun movie specially compared to today's slop
>>214428043Its a mess, the only way to get a lot of the flick is if you read the books...and if you read the books you end up raging at shit being so fucking bastardized.
>Lestat and Jesse being an actual thingShit adaptation, Jesse belongs to mommy Maharet
>>214428043It is okay. Compared to the book it's dog poop.
I had the soundtrack on repeat but still haven't actually watched it
early femgoth tripe
More like Queen of the DAMN
>>214428043Sex with black women.
>>214432488It should probably be like, "DAYYYAMN!" but this right here is your answer.
More like DAAYYUM she ain't gonna be in queen of the damned 2
Its a mixed bag; it doesn't hold a candle to Interview with the Vampire in terms of tone and setting, it felt too contemporary at the time it came out in comparison to the timelessness of the previous film. And even Anne Rice disowned it. It didn't have a lot going for it.Then again, like you, I went back and revisited it and it sincerely is a time capsule of that time period. The music, the fashion; it really took a snapshot of the early 2000s like nothing else did. There are huge swathes of the film that's complete dogshit but then there are other things like style and attitude and costume design that seem to knock it out of the park. It being Aaliyah's only and final film and how a lot of people remember her also adds to the mythos of the movie and even if she couldn't act, she made the most of it and embraced it.That and there's Johnathan Davis.
>>214432410In the movie Jonathan Davis from Korn is Lestat's singing voice, he wrote all the original songs for the soundtrack but because of a dispute with his record label and thr producers of the film he couldn't be on the soundtrack, so he got the singers from Linkin Park, Orgy, Disturbed and others to fill in.The movie is bonkers but if you're into the Y2K Nu Metal aesthetic you can't go wrong with Queen of the Damned
>>214432773>it felt too contemporary at the time it came out in comparison to the timelessness of the previous film. And even Anne Rice disowned it. I mean, Anne Rice had fucking aliens being the ones who created vampirism.
>>214432792It was for the best, they brought some of if not the best vocals of their careers on that album
I could have saved her...
>>214432773Aaliyah was in Romeo Must Die with Jet Li the year before Queen.
>>214432818Anne seemed to be two different people after her writing years. Heard she converted to Catholicism.

>>214428043Compared to Interview with the Vampire- also by Anne Rice- it was a total disappointment. Interview is one of the best vampire movies ever made, QotD is just late 90s vamp slop. Is it better than Twilight or Vampire Diaries? Sure, but it's still not good. In fact, it was bad enough Anne Rice actually denied anyone the right to adapting movies from her novels ever since.
>>214432833Damn. Missed that one. Was it good at least?
>>214432819You got check out a live recording JDevil did of QOD soundtrack during the pandemic, it's really good, I saw the movie first so I associate the songs with Davis.
>>214432902Iconic Hip Hop/Kung Fu movie, maybe a step below Rush Hour because the budget is clearly lower, but the fights are great, you got DMX, you have all time great soundtrack, Russell Wong played a great villain.Cradle 2 the Grave, The quasi sequel with the same cast playing similar but different characters because of Aaliyah's death is also strong even tho it has more dodgy wire fu.
>>214432832>brown eyesyou cant save animals
Funny how Jews now want you to think things made for working class white people like Korn and Limp Bizkit sucked while they praise some soft sensitive indie shit. This is a real man's kino, but they will praise A24 shit.
>>214433134You sound just like a Jew.
>>214433134Imagine hating Aaliyah, get out of here this an 18+ website.
>>214432902Try Again comes from that movie, why Jet is in the music video.
>>214432874For me it's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyorXFC_1jk&list=RDkyorXFC_1jk
