As a gen Z, will I be able to get into these shows and enjoy them despite their outdated woke communist (libtard) boomer propaganda?
>>
>>214429434
Probably not. Like you said, the world changed too much and that medium is too dated for your tiktok sensibilities/attention span; you'll probably watch shorts of it here and there and glean about it through post-modern osmosis that way (with enough referential clips, you can build a clear picture about what the show was about).
Most like the future generations will watch this content and critique thinking/behavior/ideology of this time compared to its own.
>>
>>214429434
honestly i don't trust people that aren't at least neutral towards the first 5 star treks.
>>
Some people used to say the original star trek was too talkie. Meaning there were a lot of scenes with dramatic line readings but not a lot of action. It does require some attention span.
>>
>>214429434
i'm an old boomer who watched these shows on broadcast, and when i try to rewatch the tv series even STNG, i am distracted by the low production values
>>
TOS is fairly slow, and a large aspect is kirk talking it out with spock and bones.
A lot of the sets are low-budget, and the action is pretty campy, so i don't see you vibing with it no cap
Watch the pilot with shatner, and if you don't like it, just don't bother with TOS.
TNG might be better for you, since it's relatively more modern, but despite popular opinion, patrick stewart was worse than shatner and loves to hear himself talk even more. So give it a few episodes.

lmao its the nutrek spammer

TNG has even less action that TOS , its basically a prime time soap opera.
>>
>>214429434
I got into this series just so I could understand all the pop culture references but weirdly anything after TOS is truly just considered nerdshit apart from when Family Gay had the entire TNG cast on for an episode, idk.
>>
>>214429434
you can definitely get into tos and tng, after that maybe not
>>
>>214430186
Also I realize I come across as a shitter pleb for saying all that but I’m not like that for most things; there’s just so much Star Trek content now anyways.
>>
>>214430346
you can stop after DS9
>>
>>214429434
I can't see how someone who doesn't enjoy anything can except to enjoy anything.
>>
>>214429434
The pace is too slow for zoomers. You'll fall asleep or spend most of the episode playing on your phone.
>>
>>214429860
HD big screens were a mistake. Watch them on a 15" NTSC screen and you'll like it better.
>>
>>214429434
Give this one a try.

Yes. It's kino. Yes it is liberal propaganda but its very well made liberal propaganda. I'd argue the normie vision of the future is still by and large just Star Trek, despite all the destruction due to liberalism we've seen the past decades. You won't really understand how western culture got to this point unless you know Star Trek.
>>
>>214430668
>Yes it is liberal propaganda but its very well made liberal propaganda.

back then liberal propaganda was to be colorblind and not exclude people based on race or gender, today's liberals advocate both racism and sexism against certain groups.
>>
>>214430746
Precisely. Star Trek was always the vision that clashed with reality. Equality of opportunity didn't make the differences of race or gender go away, so they had to actively discriminate against whites and males to force Star Trek into existence.

you are not Gen Z and you are a liar.
>>
>>214429434
Star Trek is full of sexy bitches in miniskirts, they got rid of the miniskirts in TNG and makes them wear pantsuits so I would say the Original Series is the only one worth watching

I don't have an attention span issue, I have watched plenty of older shows but not from the 60s except for some movies and i don't mind episodic format. Only get bored if it's shit and uninteresting.

Half the threads on this site are made by zoom zooms. But you post in those without knowing it just fine.

No you will not be able to get into Star Trek because you're literally retarded. I'm sure it isn't entirely your fault but it's just the way the world is now.
>>
>>214431553
>I don't have an attention span issue
Maybe, maybe not. Have you watched 'Solaris' (1972)?
Your perception of attention span might be tuned to what's normal for your generation.

I tried getting into Trek about 2 or 3 months ago, starting with TOS, and I bailed like 2/3 into it. There were some good ones in there, like the one that takes place basically entirely on the bridge, and it's all about the Enterprise dueling with an invisible Romulan ship. That one was fucking great, but there are a lot of stinkers in there too, and some that I just found really boring. Then, I read that 2 and 3 get way worse, and I declared the Star Trek experiment a failure. Star Trek for me is kind of like wrestling I guess, where I like the discussion way more than actually watching it.
>>
>>214430522
Dude, I'm an early-millennial/late-X'er, and I couldn't hang. I'm usually into this stuff too. I really like Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, Mass Effect, even Lexx, but Trek just doesn't click for me for some reason.

The same thing with Doctor Who. I gave the Eccleston season a go after hearing it hyped for years, and when I got to the end, just said "That's it?"

Maybe it's something you just missed the boat on if you didn't see it as a kid or something.

I like it
