We have to go back to 80's woke. Current year woke has gone too far!
>>
Television takes to long to produce and most of it is bloated movie scripts. I agree with him on this.

Monosyllabic strong teenage female characters?

I'm so glad I was born, lived a healthy adolescence and had honest to god skills and hobbies, well before all this kind of faggot shit started.

Go like and subscribe your [Daddy Streamers] you zoomer homos

'Kinda'?

The issue is still that TV is trying to be movies. Insanely high production values, long form story telling over episodic stuff, short seasons and years long turnaround.

TV used to be all about having 3 to 5 sets you use endlessly where each episode told a self contained story. Thats almost gone now

What's wrong with stranger things?

Succession was the last well written TV show, the "critical" drinker watches only capeshit and the latest YA slop so what would he know
>>
They're trying to turn miniseries into long running shows.
>>
>>214432784
No such thing as a long running show
>>
>>214432173
I also firmly believe that constraints in budget and not having access to "better" locations also contributed to much better writing. Even old shows that were B-level for their time had some great writing (and acting).
I think a lot of studios now just think
>make it flashy and bombastic and nobody will care about anything else

4 years between seasons of a high school show is just fine my dude

Let me guess, he's going to pretend to be druk and list exactly the reasons I think but sort of watered down so it doesn't offend the almighty algorithm.

>>video opens with a zoom in on harold
I will now watch your slop.
Even if it is telling me shit I already know about gow streaming killed television, with shorter seasons with longer yime between. Snarky Jay already did a video like this and she is far more enjoyavle ti watch.

It really is amazing how syndicated and Sci Fi channel shows in the 90s were better produced and had better runs than television shows today.
>>
>>214432973
and each season is now 4 to 8 episodes.
Fucking hell. Not ling ago we had hour ling shows on even budget networks crabking out 20+ episodes every year.

report eceleb threads as off topic

It's all in the script. The modern wokes they let in to Hollywood now can't write for shit. 25 person writer rooms don't help either.

>>214434195
fuck off, retard. Everyone on this board respects Drinker and we allow his threads to be posted.

I disagreed with that video. I don't miss episodic TV and prefer serialized.
>>
>>214434999
Yeah but you also have shit taste so there's that. Some serialization is fine but most of the best shows ever created purely in terms of entertainment are episodic. That applies to both live action TV and cartoons. Not having to commit to a longform narrative (usually dramas) and instead being able to enjoy small doses of condensed storylines that end after 1 episode is the best way to take in entertainment. It's more creative to come up with new ideas for situations that characters can be put in instead constantly having to add onto an existing story which often gets ruined because most of these longform shows only have one full season of story that is written and everything after that is just tagged on filler bullshit anyway.
