The best thing about ghost in the shell 1995 is the sheer amount of work that went into the animation and the soundtrack. Judging it on other merits is kind of pointless.
4chan introduced Legend of the Galactic Heroes to the west.I haven't watched it in its entirety but from all the threads and everything I have read about it, its probably the pentultimate space opera to ever be created.
