>>214465646Because it's one floor below the first floor.Simple as
>>2144656661 minus 1 would be zero. The first basement floor should be the 0th floor according to Americans, and yet it isn't, which makes their naming inconsistent. I'm on B5F, and I go up 7 floors. What floor am I on? In civilized countries, I'm on the 2nd floor. In America, I'm on the 3rd floor.

In the top two images that structure is surrounded by adult trees dwarfing humans. The only way to build large structures is with light weight material. This was a mausoleum dedicating to Isaac Newton. It's design was that in the day it would be dark inside with the ceiling having specific holes drilled in to match the night sky and at night the light would be reflected to illuminate the entire inside like it was day.

>>214467594YesThe rod was supposed to hold both bridges. Each bolt holding only one bridge. But since they hung one bridge from the other the bolt was holding two bridges.
>>214467351Interesting how you use the starting point as 0 in this example and the first movement as 1 but when it comes to floors you think the starting point should be 1 and the first movement as 2. That's Americans for you I suppose
>>214467908>The building itself was a 1500 metres (4900 feet) tall sphere, ten times taller than the Great Pyramids of Giza,[1] encompassed by two large barriers circled by hundreds of cypress trees. The massive, spherical shape of the building was inspired by Boullée's own study called "theory of bodies" where he claims that the most beautiful and perfect natural body is the sphere, which is the most prominent element of the Newton Memorial.[2] Though the structure was never built,[1] Boullée had many ink and wash drawings engraved and circulated widely within professional circles in 1784.[1]

Guys, it's a holdback to when the British had to literally live on the ground because they were all peasants and shit. The America's having been colonized by the superior man don't consider the ground part of the building. We put floors in our building which go on top of the ground.

>>214465082The 2nd level of the structure having the 1st floor of the building can only be interpreted as the 1st level having no floor.
>>214469412The ground level has no floor. When you go outside, do you ask people what "floor" you're on? The absolute minimum to create a 1 story house is a roof, no floor required. Why does the dirt pile under your roof suddenly become the first floor just because you put a roof over it?

>>214469445I understand now. In America we tend to install flooring material over the dirt on the first level, hence the difference in floor numbering.
>>214469879If I put flooring on the ground outside, does that area become a "first floor"?

>>214469319Its really good but last third of the movie has a very sharp tonal shift, felt like somebody meddled in to have a proper ending with right message so people didn't get cute ideas from it.
>>214471166Just finished it. The whole time I was rooting for the badguy. When I IMDB'd the movie to look up one of the actors, I checked the user reviews, and they are almost all the exact same reaction. I rather enjoyed it. Was decently entertaining even if the ending was a disappointment.
>>214465471It's usually different from the others, so it makes sense to call it the ground floor and then comes the first of the non-ground floors. Some regions take it even further and call the floor above the ground floor the Main Floor because it's the most expensive. Thus you've got Ground Floor, Main Floor, then First Floor, Second Floor...
>>214471166kek this, the ending is so forced
