I think its because every arc is so insanely different from each other and altho there is a story and plotlines and characters that connect the arcs, they feel pretty stand alone from each other because of how diverse they are.The arc most people label as the best doesn't even get the protagonist any closer to his goal. Its literally a side story that balloons into this insane tale. If what you liked about it was the power system and the general globe-trotting adventure feel, yeah, you're basically out of luck.Try Frieren (much more slower paced/slice-of-life-y, but the action and mechanics of it all are pretty good, ignore retards who tell you it's bad because it's popular)Try the original dragonball. And preferably the manga, the anime is unbearably paced. Dragonball Z is where it starts to lean into power levels instead of interesting strategic fights and powers.I would not recommend Jujutsu Kaisen. There's basically no real rules or coherence, all of it is just the author making shit up as he goes along.Chainsaw Man MAYBE. But it falls off hard after part 1 to the point that people barely remember it exists nowadays.Oh, and obviously Naruto. Like Dragonball, it completely devolves into shitty power levels after Shippuden, but the first part/original is as good if not better than HxH. Also the anime is ALSO horribly paced, like DBZ.

Unfortunately HxH is as good as it gets in that regard. Also once you're done be sure to check out the manga, the current arc has been going on for like a decade and it's gonna be a miracle if he finishes it but it's the best arc so far.
