Hatchet was a fun little slasher. Lots of marty’s gra booba, good effects, a bunch of funny parts, and a few good jump scares. The basically just straight up followed the slasher formula and it works. I think that’s the only downside. If you’re a slasher person you’ll like this, but if you’re just a regular horror person you’ll already have so much to choose from. Nothing makes it stand out to me really. It really just follows the formula. But it nails it.

Watch Honeydew. It is like Speak No Evil. Better too.
>>
>>214471526
Honeydew was wild.
Definitely in my top 20 now.
Speak No Evil came out in 2022 and Honeydew came out in 2020
Honeydew was definitely better and influenced Speak No Evil
>>
>>214471338
They made a remake starring young Professor X and the chick from Stopmotion but I haven't gotten around to seeing it yet.
>>
>>214471338
Not a good movie cause the way the couple acted was too annoying. Your typical average betamale.
Honeydew was better.

>>
>>214471526
>>214471703
I'll watch Honeydew. Thanks.

I didn't find Speak no Evil to be bad because the protag was a beta. It was central to the narrative. He even had a whole sequence about trying to overcome it. His passivity is ultimately what got his entire family killed. I always enjoy horror more with flawed protagonists.

>>214471649
I heard it wasn't as good. I'll have to give it a month or so before I check it out.
>>
>>214471745
No idea who that is but the movie was wild. If shit like Speak No Evil og and remake are so popular, then Honeydew should definitely be even more popular and well liked. Your loss.
>>
>>214471856
>Honeydew
Movie also made me think of Tusk a little.
Honeydew was much more enjoyable than Speak No Evil movies because they didn’t force the couple to be super normie average betamale cuck. At least the American remake removed some of that but honestly, the movie wasnt good overall.
Honeydew, the look and feel of the movie was great from the start.
Speak No Evil seemed to rely too much on making the viewer hate the couple.
>>
good to see Argento made something decent after the 90s
>>
>>214471856
The movies relied too much on the couple being beta. Like way too much.
>>

>>
>>214471959
No, they are real posters. Little do they know, they are the ones that prevent lively discussion and more anons from joining in. Imagine being a horror fan, coming in here and all you see are 80’s horror. You definitely know youre in the wrong place.
>>
>>214471526
I remember skipping this one because the reviews said it was jank. Maybe I should check it out.
>>
>>214471898
Haven't seen Tusk yet
>>214471930
I disagree. I haven't seen the remake, but in the 2022 Dutch film, while the protagonist couple were beta they were not entirely passive. They exhibited high-trust values of politeness and anticipated that their culturally similar national neighbors would share them. Even so, they initiated a number of confrontations against the miscegenist serial killers.

The fact that the villains had a whole warehouse full of luggage from and photographs of the single child families they had murdered indicates they knew how to case their targets. The final undressing sequence brought it home that their conflicts of instinct and programming led them to lose their lives. That was the point.
>>
>>214472035
Reviews lol. It probably mogged too many high budget movies and reviewers are paid off in some way. (they are)
>>214472040
You havent seen Tusk? That movie relied on an annoying character too much too.
> whole warehouse full of luggage from and photographs of the single child families they had murdered indicates they knew how to case their targets.
I think youre looking too deeply into that scene. They just went after other families with a kid too. Thats it. lol.

Anyways, out of Tusk and Speak No Evil movies, I preferred Honeydew.
>>
>>214472120
No, they spelled it out in the final sequence.
>Why are you doing this to us?
>Because you let me.

The main characters' assertion of their boundaries but their failure to enforce them was the central subtext. idk if you're like me in that awkward exchanges are difficult to watch but you like watching films which feature them. Speak no Evil is awkward to watch in this way. I'll watch Honeydew tonight with muh dinner.
>>
>>214472194
>Because you let me
So it did rely on the couple being beta pushovers especially in the original version. Kinda like some people sitting infront of dangerous looking people on the subway irl.
>>
>>214472219
Speak No Evil original was too cringe and beta. It wasnt even natural.
>>
>>214472219
>So it did rely on the couple being beta pushovers especially in the original version
Yes, like I said, it was the point of the movie.

Watched The Vourdalak. It was a decent adaptation of the short story. I liked the creepy cadaverous puppet vampire. Some of the scenes were stylized like an old silent film, ex. The peeping with the spyglass scene.
The gay/tranny stuff was groan worthy and laborious. Gotta get those woke points. Right?
I ultimately like the book better because of the ending with the insane finale with the entire vampire family running down the guest, chasing him through the forest trying to stake him with a pike[/forest]
I didn't expect the movie to have this ending. Would have changed it to.much
