Which one do you prefer?
>>214470725The one without the non-human.
here is the answer.
>>214470725vastly prefer The Hunt for Red OctoberI don't like the kind of tension in a movie like Crimson Tide, same reason I don't like Speed or Cellular or Phone Booth or Red Eye
>>214470725The Balance of Terror
>>214470725Hunt for Red October and it isn't even remotely close.
The pacing of Hunt for Red October is the best in any movie imo. Insanely rewatchable because you slide right into any scene like your mommy laying you down into a hot steamy bathtub.
>>214470725Red OctoberCrimson Tide is barely worth a rewatch
>>214470725from what I remember gene hackman kinda blew itso I'll go with red october1. the opening is comfy2. if I catch it on TV I'll keep watching, this ain't even a question>>214470798no, the answer is actually the six hour version of das boot
>>214470725never seen Crimson Tide.
>>214470725red octoberbut they're both extremely comfy boatkino
>>214471168the crimson tide is what cause the october to be red
>>214471210gimi
Both are good but I prefer Red October a lot more but both have incredible casts/supporting actors.
>>214470725>>214470725Das Boot
>>214471446not red enough
>>214471488checked
pic rel has some great scenes of being hunted by subs, including one where one sub calls a ship on radio and literally goes awoooootherwise it's mediocre but the night scenes mentioned are worth watching it
>no submarine kino except three movies, a dozen "nazis are evil" and some french attempts which put you to sleepsad
>>214470725Red October.
Listening to this while playing autism sims like Sea Power or Cold Watershttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IyngX5mojc
>I would have liked to have seen Montana...
>>214473326>we need to surface anon>but why>because we need electronics antenna>but why>we needs to browse 4chan
>>214473454that was heartbreaking :(
>>214470725Crimson Tide has much better monologues and acting, and a much more plausible plot. It thankfully doesn't have shitty Russian accents and bizarre American conceptions of what Russian officers are like. CT is nothing more than a solid movie, but Hunt is outright bad.
>>214473303'Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan' is spiritually a submarine movie.
>>214473372>Sea Power or Cold Watersare those enjoyable? I liked Sub Command but never had the autism to go further
>>214473538I'd say start with Cold Waters is you just want pure sub action. Sea Power is overall fleet management. Just be aware they are MASSIVE time sinks even if you're somewhat familiar with the ships/weapon systems etc. Cold Waters has a really cool sonar model, really immersive.
>>214473516I disagree about Hunt but I do really like Crimson Tide, pure Tony Scott kino.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFyhG1plkX4
>>214473579>really cool sonar model, really immersiveman I hate that "omg I got a signal... mirrored... which one is it dude... let's turn... I guess it's that one..." half an hour later "I guess I have no idea what I'm doing"
>>214470725Crimson Tide is White man bad, black man good propaganda.
>>214473739based. I almost forgot about this kino.
>>214470725Crimson Tide is kino.Red October is Cold War McCarthy-tier propaganda.
>>214470725Red October but both are well directed with absolutely fantastic casts
this is hard for me, mctiernan is one of my favorite filmmakers but red october never clicked for me, I dont even think its the best ryan movie but maybe thats just because I dont like baldwin in the role, connery alone doesnt carry itcrimston is kinda mid for scott but hackman and denzel are more fun to watch than connery and baldwin and the dialogues are sharper and there's more tension
>>214473908>I dont like baldwin in the rolethat was kind of the point though
The Belford Incident (1965)t. boomer
>>214470725Red October, because Crimson Tide is just liberal deconstruction of the chain of command under the pretense of patriotism - basically, another "A Few Good Men" but with nukes on a subNo sane commander wants to start a nuclear war, nor wants to be known to have started WW3/the newest war
>>214470725They're both kino but Connery mogs the one with the token nigger every times.
>>214474368thank you papi
>>214473525>Mutara NebulaTWOK is doubly based, first for being sub kino, and second for taking full advantage of sci-fi's flexibility: "let's throw in this nebula and now we have a sub movie"
>>214470725I like Hunt more but I'd rather watch a better sub movie like Run Silent Run Deep or The Enemy Below.
>>214470725I'm a simple man. I see Connery, I choose Connerykino,.
>>214474839basedt. looks like connery
