>noooo you're supposed to have 8K UHD HDR+++ CCTV cameras with 50 stops of dynamic range and Carl Zeiss optics Why are pseuds like this?
>>214474205why are you following this pseud on instagram
>>214474205People take victory in small things to feel better about the big things that they've lost at
>no lynch tribute because it would hurt too bad ;DJay is just as big a piece of shit as Mike.
how would Lynch afford that? his movies never made any money

>>214474205Where the fuck are the ring cameras?
>>214474791there's one above the doors to the right, it's not a doorbell model but one of their security floodlight models.
>>214474698I'm guessing he made shitloads from his transcendental meditation foundation. I know an older guy who spent hundreds (maybe thousands) on TM courses, conferences and retreats.
>>214474698Merchandise sales from Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet
>>214474205I install ring cameras and real cameras every day. Ring cameras are indeed absolute shit, for a ton of reasons. But they are cheap.
>>214474205why would you need more than a Ring camera for a completely empty house?>>214474791flood model
>>214475245>Ring cameras are indeed absolute shit, for a ton of reasons.what reasons exactly?
>>214474698it wasn't worth 15 million when he bought it
>>214475277Not the guy you're replying to, but the common complaint is that Ring will say their camera is 1080p, 4K or whatever, but if you compare video quality to a more expensive brand, it's noticeably blurry, and the second it gets even slightly darker out, you can't see shit even though the manufacturer claims it has infrared night vision.
>>214474205>You watching security footage feed of LA fent fiend pissing on your lawn from a ring camera?>get real
>>214475338My ring doorbell is 5 years old and the night vision is pretty goodThe main criticism I've heard is that you have to pay Ring an annual subscription for it to work
>>214475343There are no fent fiends roaming Hollywood Hills.
>>214475418Lynch would have ridden them in just to fuck with the neighborhood.
>>214475277>owned by amazon>terrible video quality>recording behind a paywall>if you do give in and pay, you only get like a 20 sec clip of any "event," not even 24/7 recording>if your wifi isnt perfect (amazon owns eero, too), your camera wont work>neighbors (why does your doorbell need to have social media???) are fuckin annoying>owned by amazon aka the governmentIm sure there are more but its been a long week. In the long run, its cheaper and safer to own your surveillance system instead of having to rent it every month.
>>214475538>owned by amazonI don't think it started that way>terrible video qualityhave you seen the latest models?>recording behind a paywallcan't disagree>if you do give in and pay, you only get like a 20 sec clip of any "event," not even 24/7 recordingcan't disagree either but its motion activated and will continue to record more clips>if your wifi isnt perfect (amazon owns eero, too), your camera wont workI wouldn't know about this>neighbors (why does your doorbell need to have social media???) are fuckin annoyingI hated it at first and couldn't believe how many dogs get lost each day but you can filter out the BS and set it to only focus on crime in the neighborhoodI installed a doorbell ring and a ring floodlight cam for my elderly mother. It was my first camera system and she pays the monthly subscription. I don't have any problem with wifi or video quality and I think the app is pretty good.is there another brand than Ring you recommend for a basic 2 camera set up that has a mobile app?
>>214475871Correct, they didnt start thay way. But thats currently irrelevant. Youtube was once an independent company, too. Id recommend any airgapped nvr/dvr not made in china. I know this doesnt follow the parameters of your question, but thats my professional recommendation. Im not trying to be rude, but you need to ask yourself "why are we putting surveillance cameras up anyway?" And if the answer is "so we can have an app to live view them whenever," then yeah, id recommend ring. Its cheap and easy.
>>214475385Main criticism should be that police can usurp the feed anytime they want or was that some other company?
>>214476349>>214475538I knew i was missing something
>>214474205I’m in your house.
>>214476349All Amazon-owned home surveillance camera brands (Ring, Blink) shared video with the police without explicit consent from the customers whose cameras took the footage.
>>214474720Don't forget Lost Highway
>>214475538Half of the Ring stuff is the app and instant notifications. Can you setup your own software to do that?
>>214476490Absolutely, the most basic vms software will do the trick if you configure it correctly
>>214476541That's the thing. You can navigate a market of cameras, microphones, servers, cloud storage, hard drives, software configuration, phone application whateverOr you can buy a doorbell and install an app
>>214476624Yes. Its cheap and easy, like ive said twice already. That doesnt make it a quality surveillance product, but the placebo effect is a motherfucker.
>>214476624We now know why Jay needs 600 TB of storage.
