I have looked into some of these musicians hoping to see some deep philosophy or theological insights and time and again am left unfulfilled but I continue to suspect that the scene does have some occult geniuses who are just in some kind of spiritual pact where you will never hear them speaking their true beliefs. And then the rest of them are in fact just acting out, or are involved in occult stuff but don't have any intellect to process it and explain it. And movies like Lords of Chaos, the occult stuff is depicted as them dressing up and goofing around and occasionally doing rituals when it's not that, it's never just a game or goofing around and the ritual stuff is never gone into in depth. When movies portray it in such a shallow way it makes you loathe the industry for being afraid to go deep or really explain these people, maybe because they don't want to turn these movies into a paranormal or horror movie, or they consider the audience to be undeserving, or they don't want to spook people into becoming Christians at the realization that the metal scene and satanism isn't a joke, I have no idea. It's extremely unfulfilling though. Death metal and paranormal stuff goes hand in hand and movies and documentaries never go deep enough for my taste. So I kind of just gave up on it.
