The Concordia incident proved that in the event that any cruise ship staffed mostly by thirdies encounters real trouble, it's going to be every man for himself nearly immediately. A lot of the crew got into the life boats before passengers did. The only reason there wasn't a greater loss of life was it happening in warm water and close enough to shore some people swam for it, and the boat was wedged on rocks so it couldn't sink outright.
