they're the opposite of millennial humor. the scary movies are just a bunch of 70s-era writers in a trench coat. hell, scary movie 3 literally has all the writers from Airplane! /and/ Leslie Neilson. Tasteless bitch.

>>
>>214480747
I've seen it pulled off remarkably well a couple of times, can't remember where I saw it. when you are watching a comedy and something like someone slipping on a banana peel is timed perfectly enough, outrageous enough and subverts expectations enough to be hilarious. but the joke is less about watching something do something wrong and more about pure subversion of expectations while being served primitive humor.

why does it randomly have blotches of color like someone ran it through ai?
>>
>>214480023
It’s not really surreal. It only comes across that way if you don’t grasp what it’s parodying, and it’s a sign of a good parody that it’s funny anyway.
>>
>>214483457
Someone is assigned to monitor all the content you browse and before you click on something they swap it out with AI generated content of what you presume is going to be there. You can never really tell apart from minor AI artifacts. They're working on fixing that, it's not there yet.

Even back then the only scene I found funny was ‘weeooweooweeoo’ for how absurd it was but even that they drove into the ground. Everything else they were trying way too hard and relied too much on non-sequiturs and ‘lol so wacky’.

But early 2000s humor was just terrible. Shit like jackass and American pie were just lazy, crass humiliation one-upmanship sessions with no thought put into it. Just laugh at the dude getting kicked in the nads, or fucking a pastry and give us your money, you mouthbreathing retard. Oh and they say naughty words now so you can really show your parents and friends what a cool rebel you are!

It’s not any better now, but turn of the millennium comedy was 90% trash.

How many times did you watch it?
The first time I saw it, I thought it alternated between being hilariously brilliant and just sort of uncomfortable.
The second time I saw it, I understood more of it, and got more of the jokes.
By the third time through, I was hooked.
Now, it's one of my favorite movies of all time. Each scene is like a brand new gift.
So it may need to grow on you.
