It's a beautiful poetic film about mankind's violation of the natural world. At first the humans are just trying to survive in the jungle but then they start to exploit it for their own selfish interests. When Kong finally climbs the Empire State you feel he's earned it.

The CG bugs were weak. It was bloated, and Jack Black makes anything worse by his presence.
