Look up "bad luck to kill a seabird". It's a real superstition sailors have had since the Age of Sail. The whole thing about them being the souls of dead sailors is true too.

What?

Literally just got done watching this. Fucking kino, first Robert eggers movie I’ve seen

Pretty sure he has an all white cast every movie. How is this possible? Based either way

All his movies are great. Watch the Witch or Nosferatu as well.

Will do. I do fucking>>214483694
hate how much terminally online xitter women shitted nosferatu up when it released and wouldn’t shut the fuck up about it. Perverted it for no reason. Will watch though

Other kinos on going insane due to isolation and the downsides that come with it?

Right, the Age of Sail, when hygiene was optional and superstition was science. Truly the peak of moral authority. Let's take a look at 18th century dentistry and see what it says about our horoscope today.

I liked it. Verges on Lovecraftian.

No downsides, only truth.

Nah, Eggers is based. Of these three, I don't think the other two hit like The Lighthouse did for me, but Nosferatu is pretty awesome. Feels like it's been forever since a vampire was portrayed as a horrifying bestial force of nature. The VVitch is also solid. Both of these have Ralph Ineson's voice in them, which automatically boosts their quality tenfold.
