Greetings fellow survivor would you care to see my temple of bones and spot a cup of tea
>>214490652>Thank you for bringing your mother here and fighting off big dick zombies>Now lets kill your mother
what a fucking garbage movie>I can line up hundreds of bodies>without getting killed by zombies>my weapon is some fucking retarded blow dart gun
>>214490679>*blows you and you fall unconscious nothing personal you understand
>>214490679I still think its an allegory on opioid/morphine addicts and how they won't kill him because they need a fix.
>>214490652John Locke looks different
>>214490975it was an allegory for europe/canadas government assisted suicide. Making it seem like it's a good thing!
Brits are deranged, the movie.
it's time to admit this movie was joker 2 levels of embarrassing
>>214493272It was and I've said it from the start. It pissed on the original movie's intent of making a realistic zombie outbreak movie and made it into fucking Crossed but without any of the edge and all of the pozz.
>>214490999>>214493310>. It pissed on the original movie's intent of making a realistic zombie outbreak movie anLmfao. 28 days later fans are so autistic. What do you want?28 weeks later was Americanised garbo retreading the same ground 28 years actually progresses the world and lore. Riffing on Crossed isn't a bad thing as that's naturally where zombie media needs to go. We are tired of outbreak stories & since 28 days later released 2 decades ago, every zombie film has been inspired and ripped from it. It's boring
>>214493344The point of this franchise was to be a realistic and grounded take on zombies. 28 Years shat all over this with extreme prejudice. Fuck off. I would've tolerated ripping off Garth Ennis of all fucking people if at least it was written well. It wasn't. It was a worthless story full of idiotic gimmicks. ATJ should've been the protagonist, and the son can take the focus in the next films. It was, more than anything, a huge waste of potential.
>>214493382Explain what was unrealistic about an already unrealistic concept
>>214493455It was a heightened unrealistic concept well within "grounded" limits and that was the entire pitch/hook of it. A realistic UK-set zombie outbreak drama based on a plausible scenario. It was monumental. First off, the ragers would've died off in weeks given their state and not transformed or evolved or nonsense. Just a virus that makes people rage to the death and that's it. Nothing else. Weeks was bad and stretched it but Years was a disaster. Alphas are a stupid concept bordering on Crossed territory and the whole thing didn't respect the realistic grittiness of the original film at all.
>>214490679they explained its cos of the river speedwatching retard
>>214490652This is where the movie started to get goofie and fucked upThe ending was just over the top retartedDamn shame what they done did a damn shame
>>214493606The ending was unabashed kino setting you up for the next film, which also has a different director and will be far more schizo
>>214493382>The point of this franchiselol. it was one good movie and then the director handed off the sequel to a literal who because of a scheduling conflict. boyle gets to decide what the "franchise" is and years is what he made
>>214493534>First off, the ragers would've died off in weeks given their state and not transformed or evolved or nonsense. Just a virus that makes people rage to the death and that's it. Nothing else.Well, that's what you'd like to happen and it can still be your headcanon should you so choose to. But if there was ever gonna be a return to this franchise it had to do something different. Me I'm happy it tried to progress the worldbuilding & I think it could lead to some interesting things if the next film explores the infected in more detail. However, I would state my rating of the film is a 6.5/10. My issues fall with plot structure and it being a half act that doesn't work without its Part 2 releasing in 6 months. Well, it does work as a coming of age/overcoming grief story on its own, which was executed very well but can be a bit of a groan (exploring human problems during a zombie apocalypse, who'd think of that)What I'll give you is tone and that is something that's gonna polarise. I loved the wildcard ending. It's batshit and out of left field. It rightfully will upset hard-core fans of the original. But it's not an ending so much as the intermission
>>214493807>boyle gets to decide what the "franchise" is and years is what he madeGarland is the idea man, Boyle just likes working with him.
>>214493272I haven't seen Joker 2 but 28 Years Later was a great movie and better than the first 2. At this point I'm pretty sure just contrarians are hating on it.
>>214490652>oi bruv, I'm gonna go slot ye mum, boil er tits off and be back with er skull in a sec
>>214494450guy on the left is so clearly pissed lmao, imagine getting forced to do this sort of humiliation ritual
>>214494450Didn't Boyle direct walking dead pilot as well? He clearly likes zombie stuff too
>>214495201Nah that was Frank Darabont (currently blacklisted)
>>214490679Is he killing the zombies and burning them to eliminate the virus?
>>214495362No he takes the dead, burns them, takes the bones and then builds this temple to remember the fallen. 'Memento mori'. he's gone schiz but is a good doctor and will be focal in the next film
>>214495479Is it really just about his temple? I figured his main goal was to be the vanguard of some kind of cleanup process.
>>214490679I couldn't get through it even while on my phone and my talking dog in the room watching it with me The editing alone is rage induced then you have bad acting a plot that makes no sense and the whole out dated overdone zombie genre
>>214495535What for? The UK is done and quarantined off and it's been 28 years. Doctor has lost his mind in his own way
