I don't understand why people were surprised by her "going crazy" at the end. Her plan from the very first season was to bring an army of deranged barbarians with no sense of morality into Westeros to rape and pillage. She's always been a bloodthirsty idiot she just had advisors saving her from herself for most of the series.
>>
No, but she was put in win-win scenarios that allowed her to be a psycho, but to people the audience wanted to be burned to death. By the time she started burning more questionable people the audience had already grown to love her.
>>
>>214497254
No she actually gets bodied multiple times by FACTS & LOGIC.
What she has is plot armor/chosen one

>>214497254
plap plap plap

More of an anti hero, her solution to any problem is firey violence just like her ancestors, and normies didn't understand that that's bad until they saw her do it to white people

More like a Curry Poo lol
>>

>was she a mary sue?
not even close. her story is constant struggle, her only real victory, (bringing peace and ending slavery in Slaver's Bay) is mainly because the writers were rushing through her plot lines as fast as possible and suck and keeping the world consistant in the later seasons.
She fails a lot, is constantly struggling then gets murdered at the end.

>>214497254
i think she was a Targaryen

That was never her plan from the start.
First two seasons she was basically just trying to survive
The next 5 seasons were her trying to end slavery and rule Mereen, passing on the opportunity to go back to Westeros multiple times
Then the Dothraki fall in her lap. Before that she showed pretty much no interest in going back to Westeros
>>
>>214497254
No, she was an idiot, then she was a smug asshole. I know those can happen unintentionally with shit writers and I haven't watched it recently enough to judge, but she was definitely supposed to be crazy and evil in the last season, so that alone stops her from being a Mary Sue.
>>
>>214497254
no, she has consistent and repeated failures.

There's no real Mary Sues in the early seasons of GoT. Cersei kinda becomes one when she becomes Queen. Arya and Sansa definitely are in the last few seasons.
Jon Snow is like a weird anti-mary sue where he literally fails at everything he does but ends up being rescued in the end. Dude even failed at getting rescued one time and got a bonus rescue. What would that even be called a dues ex Sue?
>>
She was written as a deconstruction of Mary Sues but the popularity of the show, and particularly her character turned her into one.
>>
>>214497966
All Targaryens are Mary sues

Don't know, OP. Gonna need to see more pics to make up my mind. Preferably from when she was noticeably fatter.

its cuz every time she did something bad or evil in the early seasons the music was always like epic and triumphant which tonally makes it feel like shes a good guy. obviously the music was great though

Oh yes so different from the normally pleasant and kind warfare in Westeros.

It's good, not bad. Violence is the best solution to most things. For example, rents being too high. What if we just all rose up and butchered the landlords one day? Problem solved.
>>
>Spend four seasons dicking around in Slaver's Bay

Dany got wet when drogo promised to rape and enslave Westeros for her. She 100% would have let him go ghengis Kahn raper slaver on Westeros if she had her way. So much for for breaker of chains
>>
>>214497254
no, aria and sansa were closer to being mary sues that dany ever was.

Not at all.
There are many ways to be trash, not every shit character is a mary sue.
>>
>>214499804
Yikes…
>>
>>214497875
It legitimately was foreshadowed very early it's just the final execution that was bad because she basically flips a switch from altruistic god queen to mega hitler in two episodes.

that's the point, danny was always a villain, you niggas just let it pass because she was a petite white woman
>>
>>214500611
Was that even mentioned in the show? If you're asking about the books however it was probably in Volantis as per the original edition of the Dany AGoT chapter before it was rewritten.
>>
My theory is that the plotline Gurm intended for Mad Queen Dany (that he will never write before he dies) is that FAegon would take King's Landing from Cersei long before Dany gets there, FAegon would be generally beloved by the people for getting rid of Cersei plus having Varys running PR for him, she would attack the city with dragons, accidentally set off the wildfire caches beneath the city, and burn the whole city to the ground. After this she would have a irrevocable reputation as a mad mass murderer and would have to be put down
>>
She grew into one only to have it all come crashing down in the penultimate episode.
>>
>>214500966
Wouldn't Faegon fight Euron to liberate oldf9wn first?

It's obvious as fuck Daenerys goes evil. She has to last until the end of the story because she was set up in the start of the story. It's a waste of a plotline if she doesn't live to the end. The obvious thing is for her to win, but her plot is too disconnected from everyone else' and she isn't being arranged to be the Azor Ahai that no one saw coming, like Jon Snow if Rhaegar Targaryen is his father (which he absolutely is, even in the books, obviously, who the fuck still disputes this?) or Jaime Lannister (if Ayers Targaryen is his and Cersei's father). She has no relationship to anyone else. She's too mythic and seen from all the wrong angles. Her story doesn't make sense unless she goes villain. What happened with her in the second to last episode makes fucking 0 sense and is clearly there because it's there in the outline, cause nothing Dan and Dave had held the setup for her flip.

I think the 'Aegon wins and makes Dany snap and the bells are his corronation bells' niggas got it right. Daenerys in the books is a giant con by Varys and Illyrio. Daenerys was setup to fail. No one expects her to actually succeed. None of her distant allies ever intended for her to get this far. It makes sense she flips.

>(which he absolutely is, even in the books, obviously, who the fuck still disputes this?)
I think there' something to Preston's arguments that Ned's thoughts about the tower of joy don't make much sense if it's Jon. He only starts worrying about his promise after it seems like it's already too late to stop the assassination of Daenerys. From Ned's perspective Jon is still as "safe" as he's been since he himself allowed Jon to go off to the wall so why worry about him now? Also there's the stuff with Ned going to Starfall before returning home and Ashara Dayne, and why Dany has clearly been lied to about growing up in Braavos and when they make the point several times in the books that there are no lemon trees in Braavos like she remembers

The big argument is obviously that R+L=J is true in the show and Jon's mother was the question GRRM asked D&D to "test" them before signing over the rights, but it's kind of a weird question to ask if you think about it. R+L=J has been the #1 fan theory from the very start and some assholes just casually googling info about the books would be more aware of it than the "wrong" answer of "Wyla" which is only very briefly mentioned and mostly glossed over in the text itself. In other words, a low-info "fan" would probably be more aware of R+L=J than Wyla. Almost like GRRM might have expected an incorrect answer and he wanted the books to be different from the show
