Also did 'diversity' well without shoehorning in offputting garbage. The black lead I honestly found really compelling and his relationship with Cooper Hoffman's character was really well written. I would say overall I was really surprised by how great the dialogue and conversations were. Watched it yesterday. 5/10 adaptation and that's only because 'I did it wrong' was pretty much how I imagined it when I read the book as a kid. I don't know how they could have ended the film really. The book was an acid trip at the end as old memories and memories from other people blend together. My theory was that garrity lost to stebbins in the end.
