You get some chickens and let them scratch around in a decent size yard and you get protein. You use those resources to hold you over while other crops like Tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, lettuce grow in. Agriculture is REALLY fucking simple. That's why I keep saying that characters have to be retarded. The only time Zombies are a threat is during the initial outbreak. They can't think or plan, and they are passive in their movement, so any sturdy barricade will keep you safe.
