This movie was a cliched hack. The patient-therapist relationship is depicted as saccharine and cliche'd with stupid tropes and perpetuating the "therapy" myth which is a bunch of fucking lies. There is no such thing as "therapy". In fact, the naming of it sounds inherently jewish. "Therapy" "The rapey" "The rapist" "Therapist" It's a stupid scam for women and idiots.

And the resolution in this movie is forced and inauthentic. "Le big cry" at the end.

The only thing's somewhat realistic are the way Will tells all the other "therapists" to fuck off before being groomed to le chungus Robin Williams by le other chungus wannabedad Skarsgard which is just where it runs off the deep end.

The movie essentially gentrifies the low socioeconomic state friendships and quasi-families formed.

A privileged college student trust fund kiddy created movie to fetishize trauma and stuff.

In fact, all movie and all "cinema" is inherent slop. Ranging from the days of "2001: A Space Odyssey" onwards. Everything else is a flick.

All movies SUCK. And are 105% jewish scams

Eh, it's inoffensive enough. It's a prestige drama written by 20 year olds and it comes across as exactly that

Why did they use the Elliot Smith song about alcoholism as the main theme for this movie

I never got the "It's not your fault scene." It just comes out of nowhere and then all of a sudden all of Hunting's problems are resolved. It's like the kind of thing kids in acting school would like because it allows them to showcase their emotional range.

Ah yeah, I think about that a lot.
It's obviously the thing like "Ahhh... bad things happened to you but it wasn't your fault and the way you acted and the things you did weren't your fault because you were basically made to do them"

Basically, some kind of psychological "resolution" at the end of that psychological struggle of trying to "accept" or "figure out" a way around that "stuff" right?

And at that point, what can you even do? Considering that during periods of trauma and stuff you basically flip into another mode. That's the root cause of why stuff like PTSD occurs. The things exist on a rational and emotional axes separately and stuff.

And the basic understanding of psychological stuff is that, both need to be processed at some point.

So psychologically speaking it does make some kinda sense, somewhat even realistic honestly.

But yeah in the movie it's a bit of an asspull, maybe.

So, naturally, the result is that during periods of stress and trauma, you flip into a pure rational action mode. Screw all the rest. You know go into the alphabet speech mode Victor Tango bravo shit and take cover whatever.

Your emotions get pushed aside and that's just a big problem really that needs to resolve at some point.
