Despite this, the cultural impact is non-existent. Pray tell, why?

Genuinely how did it make so much? Even I went to see it, but I don't think there was that much hype surrounding it.

Why was it so forgettable?

fake numbers from Disney to fool investors.
they take the hit paying taxes on none existent ticket sales.

When did they make a sequel? Was the first one that well received?

The avatar box offices are padded by bloated ticket prices due to 3d and imax showings. Ticket sales tell a different story

What is the cultural impact of 30 MCU movies? What is the cultural impact of other movies that crossed a billion or so?
>>

I went to see part 2 three times over a couple months. It was packed every time. I haven't desired to see a movie in theaters since but will be going again in december.

Titanic had cultural impact. All of the films that made billions in the box office since hasn't. Culture is dying.

No. It's more like social media has consumed and dominated everything in the decades since Titanic. Any big thing that would have been talked about for half a year back in the 90s, is now discussed for 2-3 days then moved on for the next dozen things in line. News barely last a day or two before it's moving on to the next. There's a thousand things to watch. And even when you see its impact, you just deny it anyway.
