Why don't we ever talk about The Room anymore? Do jeets even know about it?
>>214514662>Why don't we ever talk about The Room anymore? It's already been discussed to death. There's nothing more to talk about it.Also for whatever reason I get hate when I post picrel to initiate discussion about it.>Do jeets even know about it?No, last I checked they were getting into shitty AI David Lynch memes.
>>214514662Lol no one lol ever lol watched lol this lol movie lol we lol all lol only lol watched lol scenes lol of lol it lol on lol Youtube.
WHERE THE FUCK IS IT!?
I hate midnight movie audiences. Get out of my face I'm trying to watch the movie.
>>214514662If everybody loved each other, the world would be a better place
>>214514864they hated his line because it was so true
>>214514662It's one of the most discussed films of all time. What more is there to say?
>>214514662>Also for whatever reason I get hate when I post picrel to initiate discussion about it.Because it fucking sucks. It's ironically just like the room, a shitty movie made as a vehicle by an egomaniac. Except it's not funny bad.
>>214514795I got to see an early screening of the Disaster Artist and really enjoyed it. I also don't understand the hate for it.>>214514856It apparently exists, but I guess he can't find a distributor.
>>214514856Hi sharky
>>214514662What is there to talk about at this point? Wiseau ruined it by acting all self aware and releasing garbage afterwards. At least Breen had the good sense to completely shield himself from the ironic fanbase and stick to his guns. But even Breen succumbed to laziness and the convenience of green screen.
>>214514827Bullshit, I've watched the entire goddamn thing back to back, several times with Rifftrax.
>>214514662It's a masterpiece
>>214515066Lisa! You’re tearing me apart!
>>214514662What ever happened to the stupid remake?
>>214514662To the average Indian, The Room is probably just a regular boring movie.
>>214515426The Bob Odenkirk one? It was filmed in a day and been sitting on a shelf since.
>>214514856Shouldn't it be>Directed by>Tommy Wiseau>(creator of "The Room")Or did they put that "from" there for comedic value?
>>214515479Yes, it's probably that one
>>214515519Seems like there was a screening on August 1st and it is only 30 minutes total.
WHERE IS ITImagine how much cringe kino is here if Tommy spent millions in lawyer fees trying to destroy it
>>214514795>Also for whatever reason I get hate when I post picrel to initiate discussion about it.because it's a novelty at best. The original movie is best left suspended in aspic completely unexplained , any attempt to break it down only minimizes it. The book is a good read if a bit self-absorbed in places(but it's an auto-bio, not just a making of so I can't judge that too harshly), but the movie runs the joke to the ground. An impression can't recapture the uniqueness of how strange Tommy is.
I just read The Disaster Artist recently. Fascinating book, and I am of two minds about it. On the one hand, Tommy Wiseau is depicted as being weird, creepy, and a total jerk on set. On the other hand, Greg an/or his ghostwriter are basically making money off the back of The Room's fame while exposing all these secrets about Greg's friend Tommy. I don't know to what extent Tommy consented with the writing process, or if he saw any money out of it. And keep in mind that Tommy used his money to set Greg up with a real chance at success as an actor, and Tommy is the only reason why Greg is famous at all. So it's kind of weird to see Greg airing out Tommy's dirty laundry after all that. On the other hand, Tommy is depicted as so annoying that you can kind of understand why Greg would go "fuck it, I'll write all this stuff anyway".

Amazing thing is, Tommy succeeded at becoming famous to the point that not only is his movie famous, but they even made a movie about him. Yeah it's making fun of him, but the dude basically won at life. Made millions of dollars somehow, decided to become a famous filmmaker, and actually became a famous filmmaker.
>>214515898He seems to be a skilled businessman, became a millionaire from nothing, barely even knowing English. He even managed to use the fame of the movie to his advantage despite it being ridiculed.
