Going through this right now and after will watch another space show like deep space 9 probably. Problem is should I watch every episode? I'm on season 2 and have watched all episodes since but I feel like I can skip some. Which are the best/essentials for each season?

I enjoyed the first season but for a series that shifts into a semi-serialized it isn't super important outside of character development, and even the actors themselves felt that the character development was lacking for the first 10 or so episodes they filmed. It also doesn't help that season 1 has a really wonky series order as everyone aired the first 15 episodes in a completely different order. So you are correct in your feeling that you could skip a bunch of episodes in season one. Subsequent seasons are a completely different matter and you should watch most of them. Off the cuff I can only think of 1-2 episodes you can skip season 2. There is maybe 1 you can skip in season 3, and maybe 1 in season 4(the luxan witch episode but even that has some story background info for dargo).
