Why was there a 1950s American diner in the heart of Coruscant?

Why was a forensic weapons identification expert working as a line cook in a 1950s American diner?
>>
>Why was there a 1950s American diner in the heart of Coruscant?
Why not.
>Why was a forensic weapons identification expert working as a line cook in a 1950s American diner?
Dex owns the diner.

>Why was a forensic weapons identification expert working as a line cook in a 1950s American diner?
He was exmilitary and sought a simpler more innocent life of just making food
>>
I always found this scene comfy as a kid, I don’t know why…
>>
I have never been to a 50s American dinner hows it?
>>
>>214522134
it shows that Obi Wan is just like the rest of us regular shmoes. he may be a wizard with a laser sword but he will also hang out at a diner filled with alien freaks

Why not
>>
what's jamba juice?
>>
>>214522134
Because you were a kid. Kids find everything comfy.
>>
>>214522166
It's pretty much exactly like the one in Attack of the Clones.
>>
>>214522166
Overrated. The boring food isn't worth the ambiance.
>>
>>214522180
Should I know who that fat fuck is?
>>

>Why was there a 1950s American diner in the heart of Coruscant?
same reason theres a mcdonalds in ho chi minh city.
>>
>>214522166
Its awesome, no woke shit, the waitress' are cute and thin, they flirt with you when you order, you can call them sweetheart or doll, and they take it as a COMPLIMENT.

It's a great time machine back to a better time.

Why is there Benny Goodman jazz in the middle of the cowboy saloon on Tatooine?

>Why was a forensic weapons identification expert working as a line cook in a 1950s American diner?
Because old detective movie cliches of "The bar/restaurant run by a guy whose seen a lot of shit in his life that's a useful informant for the detective"

It's a reference to the 50s diner in Spaceballs
>>
>>214522166
it's so based. it's like a portal into the chad trad redpilled century. all the waitresses say the n-word. it's like some kind of machine that lets you're travel back in time to another time, before the pozzed leftists.

I saw this a couple months ago and thought the same exact thing
star wars has always been silly
>>
>>214521787
Because its cool as fuck, and because its cool as fuck
>>
>>214522349
you sound butthurt, are you crying?
>>
>>214521787
star wars is at its best when it's paying homage to pre-70s genre movies and tropes.

The sports bar/arcade with the death sticks dealer is a worse real life reference
>>
>>214521787
Why did they serve "Jawa Juice," a drink apparently named after a species who comes from Tatooine, which is a remote, backwater planet nobody thinks about?
>>
>>214521787
It's an alien diner on an alien planet a long long time ago, that just coincidentally happens to be similar in style to diners on Earth in the 1950s.

Star Wars is George Lucas's love letter to everything he loved as a kid
>>
These movies were shitposts Lucas is a genius
>>
>>214521787
It’s called retro-futurism
>>
>>214523545
I’ve done it with a female line cook
>>
>>214522166
like a sonic, dq or braum’s, but with obnoxious lighting that hurts your eyes
>>
>>214521787
>get rich from being some sort of criminal
>retire and start a soulful restaurant on the most important planet in the galaxy in a decent location
>spend your life in peace doing what you love
Dexter won
>>
Because the core spirit of Star Wars are these kind of cheesy stuff.
>>
>>214523545
Yeah she had cat tattoos on her shoulder blades and was best friends with that girl who claimed Die Antwoord did satanic ritual abuse to her. I went in on my day off and groped her while she was working.

Honestly it's a good mental break from all the insane Scifi shit. Also Dex is a jovial heartwarming character and it shows Obi Wan is a nice man of the people.

Original Trilogy Luke Skywalker and Prequel Trilogy Anakin Skywalker are relentlessly handsome.

Something I love from the Star Wars movies is that we get snaps from a bigger story. When I watched Attack of the Clones, I assume Obi Wan had an adventure with that guy and helped him to settle down in Coruscant. I loved to make headcanons for Star Wars when I was a kid
>>
>>214522174
I think thats one of the reasons why Obi is so loved. He is the only down to earth Jedi with zero arrogance. The others act like they are Galadriel while Obi is Gandalf hanging out and smoking weed with hobits
>>
>>
>>214521787
The deepest levels of coruscant are a literal living hell, why didn't the Jedi cleanse it?
>>
>>214521787
Because its the beat way to design a restaurant

Because he wanted some extra money for his OnlySith
>>
>>214521787
I've always wondered this but never said it
>>
>>214521787
Dude you're 24 years too late to the party, just let it go
>>
I've never understood the hype around diners. The menu is always pancakes, fries or some sort of sandwich. Just boring white people food
>>
>>214521787
the answer to all of the above is because it's supposed to evoke bladerunner, but with george's own flavor
