Why are the Gremlins movies so popular with Xillennials, but not so much with Zillennials?
It's not just because of their release date, because tons of 80s movies are popular with Zillennials (Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Aliens, Robocop, etc), but for some reason it's generally only Xillennials who care about Gremlins that much

Gremlins was just part of the surrounding atmosphere you live in as an 80s kid.

The movie might have some appeal if you discover it later, but it's not the woven into the fabric of your life the way it was for xillennials

There's a lot of 80s stuff that was part of the atmosphere of the 80s that nobody since then knows or cares about. Much of what gets referenced or depicted in movies overlooks so much of the ephemera and the vibe
