>"This adaptation will allow us to uncover fresh interpretations in light of today’s world. We imagine highlighting how resilience and connection can offer hope even in the most challenging of times."
So what are we getting? Peasant farmers, military warlord states, and medieval knights with firearms fighting each other in a proto-reindustrializing England in the 2000s/2010s of the Threads universe?

I'm literally watching Threads right now.

The problem with this sort of shit is that I really doubt society would collapse if the USSR/Russia nuked a couple of military targets in the UK.

You don't think the Brits would suddenly forget the English language in under a decade after a nuclear blast?
>>
>>214524945
Forgive me but I find that a teensy bit unplausible. And I'm not just saying that because I'm just scraping the blast damage and fallout limits of a potential nuclear strike on London.

Huh. My bad.
Something that the movie doesn't make clear is that when the couple having sex in the car are interrupted, it's supposed to be a nuclear missile convoy.
>>
So did they nuke every single bit of the UK or just a few cities? If so, wouldn't it make sense to move to where radiation was low?
>>
>>214525087
The people who made threads had no idea how nuclear weapons work, or the strategy at that time.
Modern nuclear weapons have very low radiation yields than the messy surface to ground bombs of the 50's and 60's that exploded extremely close to the ground. In Threads they only nuke like 4 cities, industrial ones mostly, and military installations of real strategic value like the RAF bases the Americans use. Would that cause nuclear winter? Fuck no.
>>
>>214525147
It's a very well acted, well constructed horror movie. Like 8/10.
As a basis for military, scientific, sociological reality, it's shit.

>>214525227
And it kicks the shit out of The Day After

They said that 210 megatons total were dropped on the UK, I call bullshit that it would be enough to end the UK

Threads is basically Soviet propaganda.
>>
>>214525507
For context, 210 is two Tsar Bombas, if they dropped it 50.2 MTs with 4 bombs across 4 cities, that's not going to send the UK.
They likely wouldn't even hit Scotland
>>
>>214525548
If it was the Sovvies were doing a shitty job of it. I actually don't think a Soviet strike would have been so devastating. I'd probably be dead, but it wouldn't have been society-ending.
