He was a rabble rouser and had serious mental problems. Fuck him.
>>214525756He was a boy scout
>>214525756This smoke's actually pruning my thread.
I love how Tony ends up feeling really bad for this guy but then hes such a dick Tony says fuck it. and people act like Tony is all bad
yeet
>>214525815No, it’s more like Tony came in with a half-assed apology to try to make himself feel better, and the dude responded as he should to a psychopathic mob boss
>>214525927Tony was pretty sincere when he told that political councilman guy or whatever that he didn't want the guy to lose his job
Wait they fired him? I thought he was just demoted.
>>214525756He didn't really do anything too wrong and I think Tony had a bit of pity/respect for him
>>214525756Why does The Sopranos do this thing of introducing a character that's important to an episode and basically never bring them back or mention them again?
>>214527663Why do you ask dumb questions?
>>214527695Not a dumb question at all. I guess the answer is that it's an old show with a very episodic format
>>214527663Well that's life isn't it?Not everyone is the main character of every story
>>214527663yeah, its a complete mystery why the sopranos kept introducing characters just for their lives to be completely ruined by being in contact with tony. what the hell was any of that about anyway i mean whats the point where's the resolution or comeuppance??
>fountains of wayneshit i love that band
>>214528053I see this excuse being made a lot for The Sopranos. Sometimes it works but other times it comes off as a bad excuse for lazy writing.
>>214528155But it's not just characters whose lives are ruined by Tony
>>214525756He was a murderer and rapist of women
>>214528406... what entire institutions or ethnic groups did tony ruin?
>>214528366You come off as fucking retarded.
>>214529198It's not a big flaw, but I do think it was a problem. Ralph's son is another example of this kind of writing. I still enjoy the show but when I first watched it, these kinds of things kinda caught me off guard. I think the "that's just life" works in some parts of the show, but in other times I think it's being used to cover up the writing or times when the writers didn't really have a clear plan for the story.
>>214529287Your sisters cunt is a problem
>>214529287>the writers didn't really have a clear plan for the story.I mean, they didn't, not all the time. people forget this but the Sopranos was a soap opera. it was, for the most part, just being made up as they went along. that's just how tv was made back then. when you watch more modern shows where everything is intricately planned out in advance, that's BECAUSE the Sopranos raised the bar for what television could be as a medium. at the time, it was experimental, and they were really just figuring things out as they went. I think you do have to look at some things through that lens. another thing is that each episode of the Sopranos is basically treated as its own self contained story. there were obviously character arcs over the course of the show and a few long term story arcs, but every episode has a beginning, middle and end, and characters might be introduced to be in service of that individual story, but not be necessary for the show at large.
>>214525756That's not a pic of charlie kirk tho
>>214529408>that's BECAUSE the Sopranos raised the bar for what television could be as a mediumThis. I think it's just that I had an overly high expectation of the show. The show was revolutionary for it's time and it's still a great show but it has shown it's age in some aspects and other shows have since surpassed it in various aspects. I think the flaws of the show just seemed much more glaring to me because of how it was constantly praised as the greatest show of all time.

>>214529465>I think the flaws of the show just seemed much more glaring to me because of how it was constantly praised as the greatest show of all timeIt was for the era it was released in. I like to think of the series as two big mini series in Season 1 and 2. The show starts to spin it's own wheels with S3.
>>214528458Based Alien 3 reference.
>>214529634It was the greatest show in terms of quality in the era it was released in, and it's the greatest show today in terms of influence. And yeah I also noticed the show gets much better after Season 2.
The greatest show of all time with the greatest characters of all time. It changed TV and cable TV forever. It elevated the platform to cinema. In the past the small screen always took a backseat to the big screen. Not anymore. Thank the Sopranos for that.
