Nowadays, they mostly don’t do the killings in highly public ways, and there seem to be “arrangements” in place, where unless is is highly visible that the Mafia was involved, the killings usually don’t get mentioned in the news as “Mob Related”. Usually, the crimes just get listed as “Random Violence”, or “Altercations”, or “street gang violence/drug gang violence” rather than as “Mob Hits”. The drug gangs, or certain drug tangs, are routinely run by the mob in the background. If anybody tries yo snitch, the Mob usually finds out and kills the person rather unpleasantly.
