Why is this one so hated compared to the other films? I'd say it's the least good of the first 3, but some people unironically argue either 4 or 5 is better which is insane to me.
It was a bit bloated and nonsensical and everyone had to have their big speech and moment by the end. It was a bit of a shit show to wrap everything up by topping everything else up till that point.In the end though? It was just...good business

I don't like the movie because of tonal shift compared to the first movie, but also whiplash between very dark stuff to some of the goofiest shit in there series.first you have this weird torture/execution island, then jack somehow made it alive into a coffin, the cannibal island with cages made out of the bones of freshly killed crewmembers, then some of the most absurd and retarded slapstick with Jack being tied to that pole and spearing fruits on it while falling into a revine... stuff like that.also in general it's so much darker and bleaker than the first movie, one of the main things I didn't like is how ready Jack was to condemn 100 souls to trade against his own

Davy Jones is one of the best on screen villains ever. Turner killing him was a good twist....they should have just had Elizabeth join the crew, but they were trying at some deeper curse and love resolves it... it was hard to tie all this together.
