Scrolling through the movies released this year feels like a fever dream compared to the shit we have now. Almost any B-tier movie would be a given FOTY contender at the Oscar’s>No Country For Old Men>There Will Be Blood>Michael Clayton>Shooter>The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford>Into the Wild>30 Days of Night>3:10 to Yuuma>Atonement>The Mist>American Gangster>Zodiac>Gone Baby Gone>Transformers>Superbad>Disturbia>The Golden Compass>Juno>The Bourne Ultimatum >Hot Fuzz>Eastern PromisesEtc. Just incredible (by today’s standard).
>>214537516it's the most overrated year of the decade, Hot Fuzz and No Country For Old Men are the only great movies on that list
>>21453751607 is great but I'd say 14 is was the last great year
It actually seems shittier than I remember. So many crappy sequels and CGI slop.
>>214537516>>No Country For Old Men>>There Will Be Blood>>The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert FordTrifecta of boring, overrated crap.>>ZodiacKino.>>TransformersSlop-kino. Also, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
>>214537516LMAO only an handful of those are worth watching, what are you even talking about?
>>2145375162007 was the start of the modern cultural dark age, an age that peaked at 2012 and has only started to wane in 2019, maybe 2022. Hard to say when the real end date is because there's still so much Big Bang Theory-coded shit spewing out of Hollywood, but it's not the ONLY crap being made anymore so we're now in the new era of "Weird Vogue" where every film maker tries to adopt some unique style to set themselves apart, causing a harmonious chaos where films like Greener Grass, Saint Maud, Inspector Ike, Friend of the World, Strawberry Mansion, Mad God, Corner Office & Hundreds of Beavers all contributed to Poor Things, Beau is Afraid, Inside, Aggro Drift, The Substance, Kinds of Kindness, Friendship, A Different Man, Together, Death of a Unicorn, and so many other films coming out the ability to be more Out There than standard slop like that D&D movie, Barbenheimer, or DUNC.
